他是Cisco系统公司CCIE小组的程序管理员。Bill负责CCIE通信与服务考试。在加入CCIE小组之前,Bill是Sprint公司的系统资讯工程师。当他在Wichita州立大学(WSU)作电气与计算机工程教授时,他开始与Cisco系统公司建立联系。与Cisco系统公司联合后,,WSU建立了第一个CCIE考试准备实验室。
前言回到顶部↑我潜心研究网络领域的许多方面。根据我在教育、网络顾问、服务提供商的支持和认证方面的经验,我发现在很多方面阻碍人们理解的原因有一个共同点,即技术文档。有很多因素使技术文档成为读者的阻碍,但最基本的因素是数量、清晰度和完整性。技术文档的数量很多,特别是有关OSPF的,读者能够被完全淹没。但对一个初学者而言,问题是:应该从哪里入手。我们可以找到很多很好的书,RFC、白皮书和命令参考书,但仍然不清楚应该从哪里开始。技术文档的清晰度依赖于个人的理解力。对一个经验丰富的OSPF设计者而言,技术文档可能是条理清晰而简单的。对一个准备类似CCIE职业认证考试的人来说,同样的文档就可能看不懂了。即使文档能看懂,有时也是不完整的。你可能看懂了字面意思,但对其用法仍有些糊涂。本书的写作初衷就是提供一本清楚、简洁、完整的oSPF手册。但这并不意味着要你逐页地读这本书,你可以根据需要阅读。如果你在准备CCIE笔试和LAB考试,本书可以用作正确使用每一条OSPF命令的实验指南。如果你是网络设计者,可以把本书当作一本OSPF命令的参考书。为了满足各方面读者的需要,本书的结构相对简单。
每一条OSPF命令都用以下的结构图解说明:
· 命令结构和语法的清单;
· 命令的语法描述并解释所有命令参数;
· 该命令的用途及命令使用的位置;
· 该命令出现的最早的IOS版本;
· 一个或多个配置示例来示范如何正确使用该命令:
· 验证该命令正确使用的步骤和示例;
如果命令无法完成预期的任务,如何发现并解决问题。
本书中示范OSPF命令正确使用的示例方案能够在最少的路由器上实行,因此你不需要大量昂贵的实验设备就可以学会每条命令。本方案列举了每条命令的用途和使用方法,使问题简单化。为了加强你对特定OSPF命令操作的理解,一些示例引入了通常不会出现的非工作情形。
