西方主流媒体视野中的中国青年形象研究——基于BBC纪录片《中国的秘密》的批评性话语分析

【摘要】：本文依托费尔克劳的三维分析框架,对BBC纪录片《中国的秘密》进行批评性话语分析,从文本、话语实践以及社会实践三个层面探讨了西方主流媒体如何建构中国青年形象,建构了怎样的中国青年形象以及这些形象建构的背后所隐匿的意识形态等问题。研究发现,《中国的秘密》通过词汇选择、议程设置、文本架构、互文性等方式,将中国青年群体塑造成"迷惘的一代""享乐的一代""垮掉的一代"。这种形象塑造的背后与西方世界存在的"中国崩溃论"以及意识形态偏见密切相关。
[Abstract]:Based on Fairlaw's three-dimensional analysis framework, this paper makes a critical discourse analysis of the BBC documentary Secrets of China, and probes into how the western mainstream media can construct the image of Chinese youth from three aspects: text, discourse practice and social practice. What kind of Chinese youth image is constructed and the hidden ideology behind these image construction. It is found that the Secret of China shapes Chinese youth groups into "lost generation", "happy generation" and "broken generation" through vocabulary selection, agenda setting, text structure and intertextuality. Behind this kind of image shaping is closely related to the theory of China collapse and ideological prejudice in the western world.
