功能语言学视角下《老友记》女主人公的身份建构

　　身份建构问题一直是哲学、语言学、社会学、心理学等不同学科的研究热点。其研究对象以政治家、作者、教师的身份建构较多,对日常会话中的个人身份建构较少。《老友记》是美国著名的情景喜剧,对话日常而幽默,六个主人公中Rachel最引人关注,虽然家境显赫,父母为她安排了完美的婚姻,但逃婚后自断经济来源,从咖啡厅服务员做起,最后提升为服装行业经理,整部剧可以说是Rachel的个人奋斗史。她与不同社会关系间的对话有不同的特点。根据系统功能语言学理论,语言具有三大元功能:概念功能、人际功能和语篇功能,目前广泛用于各类研究。本文拟从系统功能语言学视角,通过对及物性、语气和情态系统的分析,研究《老友记》主人公Rachel在与老板、恋人和朋友这三种不同社会关系的会话中的身份建构,探讨身份建构与语言的关系。研究采用了定量与定性结合的方法,从十季中选取语料,通过人工标记统计数据。本研究发现,Rachel在不同的社会关系中建构了多重身份,并且在不同方面都有所体现:第一,与老板的对话中,她建构了坦诚而尊敬的下属和支持者的身份,主要体现在语气和情态上,语气类型以陈述句为主,少使用祈使句,给予老板的大多是理想化的回应,且...
