[Abstract]:Language is a unique tool for the expression of human thoughts. It makes information transmission convenient. And the speech transliteration makes the transmission not only here and now, but also can reproduce the words (even ideas) he said. In order to achieve a certain communicative purpose, people often omit the paraphrase quotation and present the paraphrase directly in the process of speech reporting. This special form of speech reporting is called "zero reporting". Speech reporting has attracted more and more attention and attracted many linguists to study it from different perspectives. However, zero-reporting, a special form of speech reporting, has not received enough attention. Moreover, although the domestic research on conversational analysis has been increasing in recent years, few scholars have made a special study on the common linguistic phenomenon of zero reporting in Chinese conversation. The purpose of this paper is as follows: (1) to strengthen the understanding of zero reporting and to highlight its importance in conversation; (2) to find out the development pattern of zero reporting and to reveal its internal laws; (3) to explore its pragmatic functions and promote verbal communication. Based on the discourse perspective, using conversational analysis as the theoretical framework, and using the empirical research method, this paper makes a study of the zero reporting in Chinese conversation using the real dialogue in the Chinese talk program "tell your Story" as the corpus. Based on the analysis of the collected data, the following questions are answered: (1) how does the zero reporting in the conversation behave? (2) who is the source of the zero reporting? What is the distribution of zero reporting in speech reporting? (3) what are the specific pragmatic functions of zero reporting in conversation? In this paper, it is found that zero reporting is widely used in Chinese conversation, and the addressee can recognize it according to the linguistic and paralanguage clues provided by the speaker. Among all the speech reports, the proportion of zero reporting is more than 30%, and most of the reporting words come from an alibi or the speaker himself, while mixed and institutional sources appear least frequently. In addition to the pragmatic functions of speech reporting, zero reporting can achieve a unique communicative effect. The method of zero reporting not only realizes the economy of verbal communication, but also makes the report vivid and interesting, reproduces the sense of urgency of context, and highlights the content of reporting. This paper is divided into six chapters: the first chapter is the introduction, the research background, research problems, research methods, research significance and the structure of the article are explained. The second chapter expounds three different perspectives of speech reporting research at home and abroad, and introduces the theoretical framework of the article. Chapter three analyzes the recognition of zero-reporting in combination with corpus. Chapter 4 explains the sound source and its distribution of zero reporting. The fifth part discusses the pragmatic function of zero-reporting. The sixth chapter is the conclusion, and points out the limitations of this paper and the possibility of future research.
