关联与顺应理论指导下公示语的翻译研究

【摘要】:随着中国经济、科学、技术发展的脚步逐渐加快,综合国力逐渐增强,不断推动中国国际化进程。随着2008年北京奥运会,2010年上海世博会,2010年广州亚运会,以及2011年深圳世界大学生夏季运动会的成功举办,中国成为举世瞩目的焦点之一。公示语的规范标准和准确实用可以充分体现我国的世界形象。公示语是为达到某种特殊目的而采用的一种公开面对公众的特殊语言文体。城市公共标识语主要以中英双语为主,为在中国旅游居住的各国朋友提供方便。由于公示语翻译的研究还不够清晰透彻,很多城市公示语存在误译、错译。公示语关系到我国国际语言环境的建设,也是对外宣传的一个窗口,因而公示语的翻译具有非常重要的现实意义。 本文以关联与顺应理论为基础,分析其理论特点并对公示语的翻译深入研究。关联理论视角下的翻译观认为翻译是一个双重的明示—推理的交际过程。在这一过程中,译者同时扮演了读者和交际者两个角色。公示语的翻译过程就是在原文作者明示的基础上,译者以读者的角色,通过非论证性的推理推导出原文作者的交际意图,实现他与原文作者的互明。然后,经过对公示语英译版读者的认知环境的估计,以交际者的角色进行话语输出,即译者向目标受众进行明示,对所翻译的公示语进行最大程度的关联分析,帮助公示语实现翻译的最佳关联转换。 根据顺应论,语言使用的过程就是语言选择的过程,不管这种选择是有意识的还是无意识的,也不管是出于语言内部的原因还是出于语言外部的原因。语言使用者之所以能够在使用语言的过程中做出种种恰当的选择,是因为语言具有变异性、商讨性和顺应性。这种现象揭示了公示语翻译是一个不断选择和顺应的过程。本文通过对语料的分析,在达到最佳关联转换的基础上,把顺应论作为一种翻译过程的指导,,并结合大量实例,提出相应的翻译策略,旨在为公示语的翻译提供一些借鉴,并引起专家学者对公示语翻译的关注和思考。
[Abstract]:With the development of economy, science and technology in China, the overall national strength has been strengthened, and China's internationalization has been promoted. With the successful hosting of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and the 2011 Shenzhen World University Summer Games, China has become one of the focuses of the world attention. The standard and accuracy of public signs can fully reflect the world image of our country. Public signs is a special language style which is used to meet the public. Urban public logos are mainly bilingual in Chinese and English, providing convenience for friends from all over the world who travel in China. Due to the lack of clarity and thoroughness in the translation of public signs, many public signs in cities are mistranslated and mistranslated. Public signs are related to the construction of our country's international language environment and are also a window for publicity, so the translation of public signs is of great practical significance. Based on the theory of relevance and adaptation, this paper analyzes its theoretical characteristics and makes an in-depth study of the translation of public signs. Translation from the perspective of relevance theory holds that translation is a dual ostensive-inferential communicative process. In this process, the translator acts both as reader and communicator. The process of translating public signs is to deduce the communicative intention of the original author through non-argumentative reasoning on the basis of the original author's express and the translator's role as the reader so as to realize the mutual understanding between him and the original author. Then, through the estimation of the cognitive environment of the readers in the English translation of public signs, the utterance output is carried out in the role of the communicator, that is, the translator is explicit to the target audience, and the translated public signs are analyzed to the maximum extent of relevance. Help public signs to achieve optimal translation relevance transformation. According to adaptation theory, the process of language use is the process of language choice, whether this choice is conscious or unconscious, whether for internal or external reasons. Language users are able to make all kinds of appropriate choices in the process of language use because of their variability, negotiation and adaptability. This phenomenon reveals that the translation of public signs is a process of continuous selection and adaptation. Based on the analysis of the corpus and on the basis of the optimal relevance transformation, this paper takes the adaptation theory as the guidance of the translation process and puts forward some corresponding translation strategies in the light of a large number of examples, in order to provide some reference for the translation of public signs. Experts and scholars pay more attention to the translation of public signs.
