关联理论视角下中西问候语交际对比分析

【摘要】:问候语是日常礼仪的一个重要的方面。问候不只是一种形式,更是一种温暖的传递。随着世界各地人际交往的增加,对跨文化交际的研究显得越来越重要,其中也包括对问候语的研究。问候语的功能表现为人际的,即协调社会生活中的人际关系,建立,增进和巩固社会成员之间的关系。在不同的文化背景下,中西方在问候的过程中往往会产生不必要的误解与冲突。本文在关联理论框架下对问候语的跨文化交际进行尝试性研究,目的是证明关联理论对问候语解释的合理性和关联理论对问候语的强大解释力,以期对促进中西方在问候语方面的交际有所帮助。 关联理论是1986年Sperber Wilson在Relevance:Communication and Cognition一书中提出的,它是和Grice的关于交际的编码-解码模式不同的一种明示-推理模式,他们认为明示-推理模式是基础,编码-解码模式只是附属于它的一种过程。运用关联理论解释跨文化交际中的问候语,有利于人们更加清晰地了解跨文化交际中问候语成功和失败的本质。这种方法为问候语以及其他言语行为,如赞扬,拒绝,称谓等打开了新的研究视野。这同时也促进关联理论在跨文化交际领域的广泛应用。这里有两方面的原因可以说明关联理论是可以解释跨文化交际的,一在于跨文化交际的误解常来自于不同认知环境下对暗含内容的不恰当理解,因此成功的跨文化交际需要大量的推理;二在于推理是关联理论所主张的人类交际的重要特征,因此跨文化交际的关联阐释是可行的。 本论文分为五部分。第一部分首先说明该研究的背景,研究目的,研究意义,研究中遇到的一些问题以及论文的结构。第二部分介绍了问候语的功能,分类,及其特点,这部分介绍了问候语在中国文化及西方文化中的不同表现及原因。第三部分从关联理论的形成与发展,关联理论的主要观点和关联理论的应用等三个方面对其进行了介绍。第四部分主要是依托关联理论对中西问候语进行分析,这部分是本论文的重点所在。论文第五部分总结全文,并指出无论出于何种主流文化,中西方要充分认识到问候语在跨文化交际中的差异的存在,互相了解互相包容,才能进行更有效的交际。最后,作者希望能通过本文帮助人们增强跨文化交际的意识,并提高跨文化交际能力。
[Abstract]:Greetings are an important aspect of everyday etiquette. Greeting is not only a form, but also a warm transmission. With the increase of interpersonal communication around the world, the study of cross-cultural communication has become more and more important, including the study of greeting words. The function of greeting is interpersonal, that is, to coordinate the interpersonal relationship in social life, to establish, promote and consolidate the relationship between the members of the society. In different cultural backgrounds, Chinese and western countries often have unnecessary misunderstandings and conflicts in the process of greeting. The purpose of this paper is to prove the rationality of relevance theory in the interpretation of greetings and the powerful power of relevance theory to explain greetings. In order to promote the communication between China and the West in greeting language. Relevance Theory, proposed by Sperber Wilson in Relevance:Communication and Cognition in 1986, is an ostensive-inferential model different from Grice's code-decoding model on communication. They believe that ostensive-inferential model is the basis. The encoding-decoding mode is just a process attached to it. Applying relevance theory to explain the greeting in cross-cultural communication is helpful for people to understand more clearly the essence of success and failure in cross-cultural communication. This method opens up a new research field for greeting words and other speech acts such as praise, refusal, appellation and so on. It also promotes the wide application of relevance theory in cross-cultural communication. There are two reasons why relevance theory can explain intercultural communication, one is that the misunderstanding of intercultural communication often comes from the improper understanding of implied content in different cognitive environments. Therefore, successful cross-cultural communication requires a lot of reasoning; the second is that reasoning is an important feature of human communication advocated by relevance theory, so the relevance interpretation of cross-cultural communication is feasible. This paper is divided into five parts. The first part describes the background, purpose, significance, problems and structure of the research. The second part introduces the function, classification, and characteristics of greeting, and introduces the different manifestations and reasons of greeting in Chinese culture and western culture. In the third part, the formation and development of relevance theory, the main viewpoints of relevance theory and the application of relevance theory are introduced. The fourth part is the analysis of Chinese and Western greetings based on relevance theory, which is the focus of this paper. The fifth part of the thesis summarizes the full text, and points out that no matter what the mainstream culture, China and the West should fully recognize the existence of the differences in cross-cultural communication, mutual understanding and mutual tolerance, in order to carry out more effective communication. Finally, the author hopes that this paper can help people to enhance their awareness of intercultural communication and improve their intercultural communicative competence.
