英语构词和汉字的原型范畴化对比分析

  随着中西方文化的传播和影响,长期以来,很多人出于对英汉两种语言文字的不同理解,简单地将数以万计的英文单词与汉语词汇等同对待,以至于造成两种语言文字基本结构的混淆,对语言学习造成困扰,尤其是对中国学生的英语词汇识读和记忆造成巨大的负担。英文作为表音文字属于印欧语系,而作为表意文字的汉字则归属于汉藏语系。文字是记录语言的认知工具。纵观英语词汇的发展过程,英语构词的生命力是由词根和词缀的无限结合体现出来的,其中以派生词最为典型。而纵观汉字的演变以及现代汉字的应用,由于庞大且灵活的偏旁,形声字成为高产的字形。本文基于原型理论,对英文和汉字在文字结构方面进行对比分析;将英语单词的构形方法,构形要素(拉丁字母、词缀)与汉字的造字之法以及笔画和偏旁进行较为全面细微的对比。根据前人对词缀和偏旁的划分,搜寻并列举大量实例发现,词缀构成的派生词和偏旁构成的形声字是范畴化体现在文字上的结果,是两种文字构形上的原型。同时在表义范畴看,词缀和偏旁的范畴化功能比较相似,可以进行对照学习,而语法范畴功能则存在较大的差异,追本溯源是由于英汉民族的不同思维方式。根据以上分析,通过对英汉文字形态对比分析,可以推断出英语派...
