[Abstract]:Based on the development and transformation of symbolic formal language in oil painting in the 20th century and its position and role in oil painting creation, this paper probes into the intimate relationship between symbolic formal language and artists in oil painting creation. Cassier once said, "Man is an animal that creates symbols." This shows that since the existence of human symbols, symbols are closely related to human activities and can be seen everywhere in our lives: big flags, small punctuation, these are symbols. Modern works of art are filled with a variety of visual symbols, and art is inextricably linked. When people stand in front of the easel to change from the traditional visual pleasure to the modern spiritual confusion, the art works gradually from the shock of the soul to the eyeball. Then, we can not help asking: "Modern oil painting art in addition to a bunch of strange symbols, what is left?" This is a question worth pondering over. This paper takes this issue as the starting point, mainly through the study of symbolic formal language of the typical painters of the 20th century, focusing on the changes of the times, the development of culture, the liberation of personality and the release of emotion, etc. To explore how artists with symbolic characteristics in the 20th century through the rational grasp and use of "symbols" to interpret their own internal personality, emotion, personal charm and artistic value.
