[Abstract]:Haydn is one of the most important musicians in the history of western music. His focus on the oratorio is at the end of his outstanding career, and Genesis is one of his most brilliant and accomplished works. Haydn was immediately encouraged to hear Hendell's recital many times during his two London trips in 1791 and 1794, before he began to write Genesis. As a vocal singer, I could not help but love the oratorio, Genesis as a masterpiece of Haydn, and one of the most classic German-language recital plays of the entire period of classicism, from whatever point of view, I think it is of great significance to study and sing the work. The title of this thesis is "understanding of Haydn's Chronicle of Genesis and interpretation of Angel Gabriel". The purpose of this thesis is to learn how to understand Haydn's vocal art. For this purpose, I set out to study and analyze the background, script, musical style and main characters of this work, and explained my understanding and interpretation of Gabriel. In addition, the object of this thesis is a holistic analysis of Genesis to discover the value of this oratorio, and I am trying to figure out how to properly interpret this particular angel-Gabriel, To understand what Haydn really wants to convey to the audience behind music. The full text consists of a preface, five main chapters and a conclusion, and the end of the paper is a reference and a thank-you. In the preface, the reason of the topic selection and the purpose and significance of the research are stated. In the main part of the thesis, the whole understanding of Genesis and the singing and explanation of one of the characters, Angel Gabriel, are presented in a deep way. The first chapter introduces the creation background of Genesis, including Haydn's later years and the birth (motivation and process) of Genesis. The second chapter analyzes the script of Genesis from two aspects: the origin of script and the structure of script. The third chapter begins with the music style of Genesis, and makes a comparative analysis of Baroque, classicism and Romanticism in the works. The fourth chapter is from the analysis of the main characters in the work, thus discussing Gabriel is a very special angel in the Bible and the play, in order to explain the important position of the character in the play. The fifth chapter explains Gabriel's role from three aspects: Gabriel's narrative, Gabriel's aria and the comparison of Gabriel's singing in the current audio-visual materials. Through the analysis and study of this work, I hope to explore the meaning of the work from the text, spectrum and audio-visual data, in order to capture and express the essence of Haydn's music: his enthusiasm, wisdom, simple humor, The spirit of optimism and a profound spiritual realm. Finally, I hope to have all the teachers, classmates, all the ancient
