从《苔丝》的几个汉译本论译文读者对文学翻译的接受

【摘要】: 人们越来越多地把翻译看成是一种交际活动。翻译过程中涉及的主客体包括:原文作者,原文,译者,译文和译文读者。从过程上来看,整个翻译过程可以粗略的分为两个阶段:译者对原文的理解阶段和译文读者对译文的理解阶段。不过两阶段之间又存在着内在的联系,这种联系是通过译文建立起来的。译文读者正是通过译文去理解和欣赏原作。 然而,长期以来,人们的注意力放在翻译的第一个阶段中的主客体。他们关注原作者,原文,译者,以及相互之间的作用和关系,而忽略了翻译中的第二个阶段的主体-读者对翻译活动所具有的能动性。 而接受美学正是以读者为中心来研究对文本的接受。本论文以接受美学为理论依据,系统分析了译文读者在翻译活动中的地位和作用:译文读者作为一个不可缺少,与译者密切相关的主体,他们在文化传统、生活阅历、意识形态等方面与原文读者的差异往往对译者的翻译活动有着直接的影响。这种影响不但体现在译者现时的翻译活动中,而且也体现在其历时地对原文选择和对译文不断完善过程中。同时,不同类型读者由于期待视野,接受能力的不同也会对译者的翻译策略产生影响。 另外,20世纪末期,尤其是1980年后,经典作品的复译现象越来越多。译文读者期待视野的转变及意义的不确定等是这种现象的重要影响因素。因此译文读者是经典作品复译过程中需要考虑的一个重要因素。 译作完成后,翻译评论家主要是从译文是否忠于原文的角度去评判译文的好坏,而很少考虑译文读者的接受。在接受美学看来,译文读者的接受也是衡量译作好坏的一个重要因素。 本文将从上述方面来探讨译文读者在文学翻译中的地位和影响。
[Abstract]:Translation is increasingly regarded as a communicative activity. The subjects and objects involved in the process of translation include: the original author, the original text, the translator, the target text and the target reader. Judging from the process, the whole translation process can be roughly divided into two stages: the translator's understanding of the original text and the target reader's understanding of the translation. However, there is an internal connection between the two stages, which is established through the translation. It is through the translation that the target readers understand and appreciate the original. However, for a long time, attention has been paid to the subject and object in the first stage of translation. They pay attention to the author, the original text, the translator, and the interaction and relationship between them, while neglecting the activity of the reader in the second stage of translation. Reception aesthetics is the reader-centered study of the acceptance of the text. Based on the theory of reception aesthetics, this thesis systematically analyzes the position and role of the target readers in the translation activities: as an indispensable subject closely related to the translator, the target readers are in the cultural tradition and life experience. The differences between ideology and original readers often have a direct impact on the translator's translation activities. This influence is reflected not only in the translator's current translation activities, but also in his diachronic choice of the source text and the continuous improvement of the target text. At the same time, the different types of readers have different receptive abilities, which will affect the translator's translation strategies. In addition, in the late 20 th century, especially after 1980, the phenomenon of retranslation of classical works became more and more. The change of readers' horizon of expectation and uncertainty of meaning are the important factors influencing this phenomenon. Therefore, translation readers are an important factor to be considered in the process of retranslation of classical works. After the completion of the translation, translation critics judge the quality of the translation mainly from the perspective of whether the target text is faithful to the original text, but seldom consider the acceptance of the target reader. In the view of reception aesthetics, the acceptance of the target readers is also an important factor to judge the quality of the translated works. This paper will explore the role and influence of target readers in literary translation from the above aspects.
