从傅译《搅水女人》看傅译风格

【摘要】:傅雷先生是我国杰出的法国文学翻译家,他几十年如一日的从事翻译工作,一直奋发不辍,严肃认真,一丝不苟。他的许多译作已近乎达到炉火纯青的境界,在国内外赢得崇高的声誉。傅雷先生一生译作宏富,译艺超绝,他创作了卷帙浩繁的十五卷译文,洋洋洒洒五百万言,是名副其实的翻译巨匠,他的译作构成我国翻译史上不朽的丰碑。他对西方文学尤其是法国文学的译介贡献很大,是法国文学在中国的传播者,他主要翻译巴尔扎克、罗曼·罗兰等作家的作品。没有他,就没有巴尔扎克、罗曼·罗兰等法国作家在中国的深远影响。 对于翻译,傅雷先生认为“以效果而论,翻译应当像临画一样,所求的不在形似而在神似”。傅雷先生“重神似而不重形似”的观点,将译论推向新的发展阶段。他的翻译以“传神”为特色,更兼“行文流畅,用字丰富,色彩变化”的风格。傅雷先生的译文对于汉语的发展,对于中国文学、文化的发展起到了巨大的作用。他那娴熟的翻译技巧及精湛的语言艺术令人叹服,他具有独特的翻译风格,以至被翻译界誉为“傅雷体华文语言”。 但长期以来,译界对傅译的研究主要集中在《约翰·克利斯朵夫》、《高老头》和《欧也妮·葛朗台》,而忽视了同样具有很高文学价值的《搅水女人》。因此,本文以《搅水女人》为研究对象,以傅雷的“神似说”和“行文流畅、用字丰富、色彩变化”等翻译思想为理论依据,并将傅雷翻译的《搅水女人》与巴尔扎克的法文原著进行对比,理论与实践相结合,论述傅雷的翻译风格与艺术魅力。另外,将傅译版本与高名凯的版本进行比较,运用个案研究法和比较法,将两个版本进行对比,考察傅雷在字词、句子上的翻译技巧。 论文的第一章由两小节构成。第一小节介绍了文学经典和翻译文学经典的关系,其中包括文学经典的定义、外国文学经典的介绍、翻译文学经典的定义及它对译入语和译出语的影响。第二小节总结了国内学界对傅译《搅水女人》——这部翻译文学经典的研究成果。 第二章分析了傅译风格的构成要素。傅译《搅水女人》之所以成为翻译文学经典,并深受广大读者的喜爱,与“行文流畅,用字丰富,色彩变化”傅译风格有莫大关系。本章介绍了傅雷的“神似说”、他对翻译对象的选择、对原作的理解、其艺术修养和学识以及翻译经验对于傅译风格形成的重要影响。 第三章论证傅雷“神似说”和傅译风格在《搅水女人》中的具体运用。本章将傅译本和高译本在字词、句子上的翻译进行对比和分析,从中领略傅雷的翻译技巧和艺术魅力。 第四章分三个小节具体分析了傅译三大风格特色:“行文流畅”,“用字丰富”和“色彩变化”。本章结合《搅水女人》具体实例,通过傅译本和高译本的对比,对“行文流畅,用字丰富,色彩变化”三大傅译风格进行阐释和总结。 在以上分析的基础上,论文得出以下结论:在“重神似而不重形似”和“译文必须为纯粹之中文”翻译思想的指导下,凭借丰富的翻译实践和深厚的艺术修养,在仔细筛选翻译对象、充分理解原文的基础上,傅译作品形成了自己独有的风格:“行文流畅,用字丰富,色彩变化”。傅译文学经典之所以在中国得到广泛的阅读,这与他独有的翻译风格有莫大关系。通过对傅译文学经典《搅水女人》翻译技巧的剖析,我们看到傅雷将“行文流畅,用字丰富,色彩变化”作为自己的预定目标,而从傅译本《搅水女人》来看,傅雷是自己翻译观点的忠实践行者,傅译《搅水女人》也是这十二字的最好代言之一。
[Abstract]:Mr. Fu Lei is an outstanding translator of French literature in China. He has been engaged in translation work for several decades. He has always been serious and meticulous. Many of his translations have reached the realm of pure and high quality. He has won a high reputation both at home and abroad. Mr. Fu Lei has been translated into great wealth, and the translation skill is overwhelming. The fifteen volume translation, five million words, is a real translation giant. His translation constitutes an immortal monument in the history of Chinese translation. He contributes greatly to the translation of Western literature, especially French literature. He is a disseminator of French literature in China. He mainly translations of the works of Balzac, Roman Roland and other writers. There is no profound influence of French writers such as Balzac and Roman Roland in China.
For translation, Mr. Fu Lei believes that "in terms of effect, translation should be like painting, not in the form of resemblance." Mr. Fu Lei "looks like but does not weigh the shape".
