从纽马克翻译理论看张爱玲自译《金锁记》中文化负载词的翻译

【摘要】:正如纽马克(2001)所说,在文化交流中翻译是最重要和最有效的途径之一。翻译是中国文化走出去的重要方式。中国文化负载词将中国文化与语言紧密联系在一起,文化负载词的翻译对于中国文化的传播有着重要的意义。因此,在翻译文化负载词时选择恰当有效翻译策略尤为重要。纽马克提出的语义翻译和交际翻译为我们研究文化负载词的翻译和翻译研究提供了新的角度和视野。语义翻译和交际翻译分别视源语言作者和目的语读者为中心并结合文本类型来进行翻译。译者可以根据不同的需求、读者群体特征以及文本类型来决定采用语义翻译或是交际翻译,从而使译文达到理想效果。 本文以语义翻译和交际翻译为理论指导,基于纽马克对文化负载词的分类,以张爱玲自译《金锁记》文本为研究对象,分析研究其中的文化负载词的翻译策略。首先,作者根据纽马克对文化负载词的分类,将译作中的文化负载词分为五类,即:物质文化负载词、社会文化负载词、宗教文化负载词、生态文化负载词和语言文化负载词来探讨。其次,在语义翻译和交际翻译理论框架下,从这两个方面对《金锁记》中部分文化负载词进行了分析。最后,作者分类统计了译作中的文化负载词及其翻译策略。 通过对文中文化负载词的归类、分析和统计,作者发现张爱玲对部分文化负载词采用了交际翻译,力求译作对译文读者产生的效果应尽量等同于原作读者产生的效果;而对更多的文化负载词是采用了语义翻译来处理,并注重保留文化负载词中原有的语义结构和语法结构,保留源语文化的身份不被模糊,其文化独特性不被抹杀。在此基础上,论文深入分析张爱玲在翻译过程中对中国传统文化所持的态度以及造成这种态度的原因。张爱玲保持中国文化成分的部分原因是希望用异国情调来吸引读者,但更主要的原因是以东方文化的姿态跻身西方文坛。在传播中国文化的过程中,使更多西方读者认识中国文化并且接受中国文化。
[Abstract]:As Newmark said in 2001, translation is one of the most important and effective ways in cultural communication. Translation is an important way for Chinese culture to go out. Chinese culture-loaded words are closely related to Chinese culture and language. The translation of culture-loaded words is of great significance to the spread of Chinese culture. Therefore, it is very important to choose appropriate and effective translation strategies when translating culture-loaded words. Newmark's semantic translation and communicative translation provide a new perspective for us to study the translation and translation of culture-loaded words. Semantic translation and communicative translation respectively focus on the source language author and target language reader and combine text types to translate. The translator can decide whether to use semantic translation or communicative translation according to different needs, reader group characteristics and text types, so that the target text can achieve the desired results. Under the guidance of semantic translation and communicative translation, based on Newmark's classification of culture-loaded words, this paper analyzes the translation strategies of culture-loaded words in Zhang Ailing's self-translated text of "Golden Lock". Firstly, according to Newmark's classification of culture-loaded words, the culture-loaded words are divided into five categories: material culture-loaded words, sociocultural loaded words and religious culture-loaded words. Ecological culture loaded words and language culture loaded words to explore. Secondly, under the framework of semantic translation and communicative translation, this paper analyzes some culture-loaded words in Golden Lock from these two aspects. Finally, the author classifies the culture-loaded words and their translation strategies. Based on the classification, analysis and statistics of culture-loaded words in the text, the author finds that Zhang Ailing adopts communicative translation of some culture-loaded words, and tries to achieve the same effect on the target readers as far as possible. More culture-loaded words are treated by semantic translation, and the original semantic and grammatical structures of culture-loaded words are preserved. The identity of the source culture is not blurred, and the cultural uniqueness of the culture-loaded words is not obliterated. On the basis of this, the thesis makes a thorough analysis of Zhang Ailing's attitude towards Chinese traditional culture in the process of translation and the reasons for this attitude. Part of the reason why Zhang Ailing maintains the Chinese culture is that he hopes to attract readers with an exotic tone, but the main reason is that he has entered the western literary world with the attitude of oriental culture. In the process of spreading Chinese culture, more and more Western readers understand and accept Chinese culture.
