解读《孽海花》与《吉姆爷》中的英雄形象

【摘要】： 本文的主旨是解读《孽海花》与《吉姆爷》(Lord Jim)这两部中、英小说中的英雄形象。文章将从人物的性格特征、人物形象的塑造手法与人物形象所包蕴的思想文化内涵等3个方面来对比分析这两部作品中的英雄形象。文章认为，这两部作品虽然均于20世纪初期问世，但由于它们诞生的社会环境相差悬殊，因而塑造了性格特征和文化内涵迥然不同的英雄形象。本文将主要通过细致的文本分析方法，运用比较文学形象学与后殖民批评等理论来完成对这两部作品中英雄形象的解读。文章正文分为3个部分。第一部分对比分析两部作品中英雄人物的性格特征与思想境界。《孽海花》中的夏雅丽、小山清之介等异国英雄以国家、民族利益为重，深明大义，勇敢无惧，视死如归，堪称民族英雄，而《吉姆爷》中的吉姆爷追求个人的成功与荣誉，属于个人英雄。第二部分对比分析两部作品塑造人物的对比手法，据此界定英雄形象的类型。《孽海花》的作者通过对比手法突出了夏雅丽、小山兄弟等异国英雄的优秀品格与崇高精神境界，使他们成了完美英雄；而《吉姆爷》的作者康拉德则在作品中设置了诸多对比，既凸显了吉姆的优越之处，又揭露了吉姆身上的缺陷，使吉姆成了一个残缺英雄。第三部分对比分析人物形象所包蕴的思想文化内涵。《孽海花》的作者由于对国人品格的极度失望，迫切希望引进来自异域的思想资源，因此对俄国虚无党人的思想主张及行为与日本武士道进行美化和褒扬，从而塑造了一批乌托邦型的英雄形象；而康拉德尽管对吉姆这一形象有所嘲讽甚至解构，，但总体上寄托了强烈的“白人情结”与“帝国梦幻”，从而使吉姆成了“帝国英雄”。
[Abstract]:The main purpose of this article is to interpret the heroic images in the two English novels of the two parts of the "Nik Hai flower" and "Lord Jim". The article will compare and analyze the heroic images of the two works from 3 aspects of characters' character characteristics, the shaping techniques of the characters and the cultural connotations of the characters. The article holds that although the two works are in spite of them, the article will be considered as the heroic image of the two works. All of them came out in the early twentieth Century, but their social environment was quite different from each other, thus creating a heroic image with different personalities and cultural connotations.
This article will complete the interpretation of the heroic image of the two works by using the detailed method of text analysis, using the theory of comparative literature and postcolonial criticism.
The main body of the article is divided into 3 parts. The first part compares and analyzes the character and ideological state of the heroic characters in the two works. "The evil sea flower", Xia Yali, Koyama Shinosuke and other foreign heroes are the national heroes, the national interests are heavy, the great meaning, the brave and the dead, the death as the national hero, and the Jim in Lord Jim's pursuit of the individual. Success and honor are personal heroes.
The second part compares and analyses the contrastive manipulation of the characters in the two works, and then defines the type of heroic image. The author of "sin Hai Hua" highlights the outstanding character and noble spiritual realm of Xia Yali, Xiaoshan brothers and other foreign heroes, and makes them a perfect hero, while Conrad, the author of Lord Jim, has set up his works. A lot of comparisons have not only highlighted Jim's superiority, but also exposed Jim's flaws, which made Jim a disabled hero.
The third part compares and analyzes the ideological and cultural connotations of the characters. The author of the "Nik Hai flower" is eager to introduce the ideological resources from foreign countries because of the extreme disappointment to the character of the Chinese people, so that the thought and behavior of the Russian nihilism and the Japanese Bushido are beautified and praised, thus creating a group of Utopian forms. In spite of the irony and even deconstruction of the image of Jim, Conrad in general placed a strong "white complex" and "empire dream", which made Jim a "hero of the Empire".
