后殖民翻译理论视角下登译《水浒传》的文化流失

【摘要】：文化典籍承载着一个国家和民族的传统文化精髓,而典籍外译对于弘扬本国的传统文化,增强汉语的国际影响力具有重要意义。《水浒传》作为中国文学史上一颗璀璨的明珠,被誉为“中国文化的百科全书”其英译问题也成为学界热议的话题。在《水浒传》四个英文全译本中,登特·杨父子的译本包含的篇章最全,翻译出版跨越的时间最长,也是最新的一个译本。虽然这个译本已经开始引起学界注意,但对于其翻译问题探讨的文章数量不多,范围不大,尤其是对于其文化流失问题的讨论更是少见。针对这一研究现状,本文以后殖民翻译理论为基础,通过分析译本特色,译者的价值取向及翻译策略,以及书名和文化词语转换中的文化流失现象,从而揭示出后殖民语境下中国典籍英译中语言与政治、历史和权利的关系以及对中西文化交流的影响。本文共分五章,第一章文献综述归纳总结《水浒传》英译的研究现状,发掘研究空间,提出研究问题；第二章简述后殖民理论的起源及后殖民翻译理论体系及其主要人物、主要观点;第三章概述《水浒传》原本和登译本各自产生的历史文化背景,重点介绍了译本的翻译体制及特色；第四章从后殖民翻译理论视角出发,通过探讨登译《水浒传》中书名及文化词语转换的文化流失现象,分析译者的价值取向和翻译策略,进而得出最后的结论。
[Abstract]:The cultural classics bear the essence of a country and a nation's traditional culture, and the translation of the classical books is of great significance for carrying forward the traditional culture of our country and enhancing the international influence of the Chinese language. As a bright pearl in the history of Chinese literature, the Outlaws of the Marsh is a brilliant pearl in the history of Chinese literature. The English translation of encyclopedia of Chinese culture has become a hot topic in academic circles. Among the four English versions of Water margin, the version of Dent Yang and his son contains the most complete text and the longest span of translation and publication, which is also the latest version. Although this translation has begun to attract the attention of scholars, the number and scope of articles on its translation are not large, especially the discussion of its cultural loss. In view of the present situation of this study, based on the theory of post-colonial translation, this paper analyzes the characteristics of the translation, the translator's value orientation and translation strategies, and the cultural loss in the translation of titles and cultural words. It reveals the relationship between language, politics, history and rights and its influence on the cultural exchange between China and the West in the post-colonial context. This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter summarizes the current situation of the translation of Water margin into English, explores the research space and puts forward the research issues. Chapter two briefly describes the origin of post-colonial theory, the theoretical system of post-colonial translation and its main characters. The third chapter gives an overview of the historical and cultural background of the original and the translated versions of the Water margin, with an emphasis on the translation system and characteristics of the versions. Chapter four starts from the perspective of post-colonial translation theory. In this paper, the author discusses the cultural loss of title and cultural words in the book "Water margin", analyzes the translator's value orientation and translation strategy, and draws the final conclusion.
