从归化异化角度对《西游记》两个版本译文作比较研究

【摘要】：自从1995年美国学者韦努蒂提出异化和归化理论以来,关于归化与异化两种翻译策略的讨论在中国愈演愈烈。近些年来,许多学者和翻译工作者都就此问题表达了自己看法,并对归化与异化可能的发展趋势进行了估计和预测。本文讨论了归化和异化的历史由来、理论定义、以及各自的特点。 《西游记》是中国古典四大名著之一,在中国文学史上占有非常重要的地位,同时在国外也有着广泛的影响。人们对《西游记》的翻译一直有着深刻的关注。目前,两个版本的《西游记》译文比较受人欢迎,这两个版本各有特点。Arthur Waley的版本以归化翻译为主,W.J.F.Jenner的版本则以异化为主。作者从归化和异化翻译角度对这两个版本的译文做了比较研究。 在结论部分,作者指出《西游记》现行较好的版本仍可以改进,具体指出了哪些地方还可以继续提高。最后作者认为,在翻译《西游记》这种包含较多文化负载词的时候,异化翻译是比较好的翻译策略。
[Abstract]:Since 1995, when the American scholar Weinuti put forward the theory of alienation and domestication, the discussion on domestication and foreignization has become more and more intense in China. In recent years, many scholars and translators have expressed their views on this issue, and have estimated and predicted the possible trend of domestication and alienation. This paper discusses the historical origin, theoretical definition and characteristics of domestication and alienation. "Journey to the West" is one of the four classical Chinese masterpieces. It plays a very important role in the history of Chinese literature and has a wide influence abroad. People have been deeply concerned about the translation of Journey to the West. At present, the translation of two versions of Journey to the West is popular, and the two versions have their own characteristics. The version of Arthur Waley is mainly domesticated and the version of W.J.F. Jenner is mainly dissimilation. The author makes a comparative study of the two versions from the perspectives of domestication and foreignization translation. In the conclusion part, the author points out that the better version of Journey to the West can still be improved, and points out what can be further improved. Finally, the author thinks that foreignization is a better translation strategy when translation of Journey to the West contains more culture-loaded words.
