由《京华烟云》谈影响可译性的文化机制

【摘要】： 翻译活动由来已久，但一种语言所表达的内容能否用另一种语言完全表达出来却成为翻译史上长期争论的话题。大量的翻译实践证明，不同的语言之间是可译的，但由于翻译牵涉两个民族不同的语言和文化，翻译过程中必然存在着文化信息的损失。文化的可译性只能是个限度的问题。翻译中文化的可译性限度的存在，是翻译实践中一个不容回避的客观现实，研究和讨论文化的可译性限度，分析其产生原因，寻找解决的方法，对于有效地提高译文的质量，促进跨文化的交流，在理论和实践上都有着重要的指导意义。Moment in Peking一书是由中国人创作的英文原著，这一选裁的独创性决定了Moment in Peking及其译作《京华烟云》都可以看作是翻译著作,尽管其译作存在不尽完美之缺憾，但仍有许多成功甚至经典之处。作者以具体的Moment in Peking翻译实例深入分析了翻译损失的不可避免性及译者所采用的一些相应补偿措施，并通过讨论一些翻译家们的理论研究成果，，旨在开拓译者的思路，从而从更深层次上理解翻译的性质。在前两章的理论分析基础上作者分析了在翻译过程中由于受到文化因素的影响而产生文化损失的原因，阐述了补偿文化损失的若干方法并对它们的优缺点简单地加以评论，同时作者提出了在进行补偿时要考虑的一些主要的因素。并指出文化补偿的总的趋势应以异化为主。从而比较全面地分析了如何尽可能处理翻译过程中的文化损失问题，本文最后总结指出，由于文化差异的存在，翻译中文化的可译性限度是客观存在的，但可译性限度也不是静止不变的，而是处于动态变化之中。随着文化交流的发展，可译性的限度正在日益缩小。
[Abstract]:Translation activities have been going on for a long time, but whether the content expressed in one language can be completely expressed in another language has long been a controversial topic in the history of translation. A large number of translation practices have proved that different languages are translatable, but since translation involves two different languages and cultures, there is bound to be a loss of cultural information in the process of translation. The translatability of culture can only be a question of limits. The existence of the limits of translatability of culture in translation is an unavoidable objective reality in translation practice. To study and discuss the limits of translatability of culture, to analyze their causes and to find solutions can effectively improve the quality of the translation. To promote cross-cultural communication, both in theory and in practice,. Moment in Peking is an original English work written by Chinese people. The originality of this selection determines that both Moment in Peking and his translated book, "Jinghua Yanyun", can be regarded as translation works. Although there are some imperfections in their translation, there are still many successes and even classics. The author makes an in-depth analysis of the inevitability of translation loss and the corresponding compensatory measures adopted by the translator with a specific Moment in Peking translation example, and discusses the theoretical research results of some translators in order to explore the translator's ideas. In order to understand the nature of translation from a deeper level. On the basis of the theoretical analysis in the first two chapters, the author analyzes the causes of cultural loss caused by cultural factors in the process of translation, expounds several methods of compensating cultural loss and makes a brief comment on their advantages and disadvantages. At the same time, the author puts forward some main factors to be considered in compensation. And points out that the general trend of cultural compensation should be mainly alienation. Finally, this paper concludes that due to the existence of cultural differences, the limits of cultural translatability in translation exist objectively. But the limit of translatability is not static, but dynamic. With the development of cultural communication, the limit of translatability is shrinking day by day.
