从认知语言学角度看中国古诗词英译中意象和意境的传递

【摘要】: 近年来越来越多的国内外学者热衷于中国古典诗词的翻译。翻译工作者们积极的把包括唐诗宋词在内的中国古典诗词翻译介绍到国外,促进了中外文化的交流。中国古典诗词是中国文学的瑰宝,以含蓄、简约和微妙见长,其中最重要的特点就是丰富的意象和耐人寻味的意境。目前国内有很多学者致力于中国古典诗词意象和意境的翻译研究,但他们的研究多是从文化角度或传统的语文学角度出发,很少涉及与意象和意境传递有关的内在认知过程。本文旨在运用认知语言学,特别是其中的突显原则来分析中国古典诗词英译中意象和意境传递的认知过程,通过分析译者内在的认知机制与意象和意境的理解和传递的密切关系,我们能深入译者的思维过程,从而了解在古诗词英译过程中再现这种艺术特征的可能性。 本文共分六章进行阐述。第一部分简单介绍了理论背景,目前研究情况以及本文所要研究的问题。第二部分回顾了中国古典诗词中的意象和意境。第三部分介绍了认知语言学,作者首先简单讨论了认知语言学与翻译研究的关系,之后重点介绍了认知语言学的突显原则。第四部分从认知语言学的角度分析了翻译过程中意象和意境的传递。作者首先从认知的角度分析了中国古诗词中的意象和意境,之后分析了造成意象和意境理解困难的认知原因以及突显原则在意象和意境的传递过程中所起到的积极作用。第五部分继续运用认知语言学的突显原则对不同类型的中国古典诗词及其译本进行了分析,作者分析了译者不同的认知方式给原诗意象和意境的传递带来的影响,旨在找到更好的传递古诗词意象和意境的方法。最后一部分为全文的总结。 总而言之,认知语言学理论在国外的快速发展为中国古典诗词的翻译研究开辟了一条新的道路。把认知语言学理论引入到中国古典诗词的翻译研究中,从认知的角度分析中国古典诗词翻译过程中意象和意境的传递,必然会为我们的翻译研究提供一个新的视角。
[Abstract]:In recent years, more and more scholars at home and abroad are keen on the translation of Chinese classical poetry. Translators actively introduce the translation of Chinese classical poetry, including Tang poetry and Song ci, to foreign countries, which promotes the cultural exchange between China and foreign countries. Chinese classical poetry is the treasure of Chinese literature, which is subtle, simple and subtle, the most important characteristic of which is rich images and interesting artistic conception. At present, there are many scholars in China devoted to the translation of Chinese classical poetry imagery and artistic conception, but most of their studies are from the perspective of culture or traditional language and literature, and rarely involve the internal cognitive process related to image and artistic conception transmission. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the cognitive process of image and artistic conception transmission in English translation of Chinese classical poetry by using cognitive linguistics, especially the principle of salience. By analyzing the close relationship between the translator's internal cognitive mechanism and the understanding and transmission of imagery and artistic conception, we can deepen the translator's thinking process and understand the possibility of reproducing this artistic feature in the process of translating ancient poetry into English. This paper is divided into six chapters. The first part briefly introduces the theoretical background, current research situation and the problems to be studied in this paper. The second part reviews the image and artistic conception in Chinese classical poetry. The third part introduces cognitive linguistics. Firstly, the author briefly discusses the relationship between cognitive linguistics and translation studies, and then focuses on the salience principle of cognitive linguistics. The fourth part analyzes the transfer of imagery and artistic conception in the process of translation from the perspective of cognitive linguistics. The author first analyzes the imagery and artistic conception in ancient Chinese poetry from the perspective of cognition, and then analyzes the cognitive reasons for the difficulty in understanding imagery and artistic conception and the positive role played by the principle of prominence in the transmission of imagery and artistic conception. The fifth part continues to analyze different types of classical Chinese poems and their translations using the principle of salience in cognitive linguistics. The author analyzes the influence of the translator's different cognitive styles on the transmission of the original poetic image and artistic conception. In order to find a better way to convey the image and artistic conception of ancient poetry. The last part is the summary of the full text. In a word, the rapid development of cognitive linguistics in foreign countries has opened a new way for the translation of Chinese classical poetry. Introducing the theory of cognitive linguistics into the study of translation of Chinese classical poetry and analyzing the transfer of imagery and artistic conception in the process of translating Chinese classical poetry from a cognitive perspective will certainly provide a new perspective for our translation studies.
