【摘要】：本文以目的论为理论指导从传播中国传统文化为翻译的第一目的出发,对《诗经》翻译进行了研究。现有的《诗经》翻译研究大多都停留在评论诗歌翻译的形式和语言的层面上,其实,《诗经》作为儒家经典,自编成以来在中国文化发展中就一直占据着举足轻重的地位,诗中蕴含了丰富的文化意象和文化内涵,承载了大量的文化信息,尤其是其中的植物与动物意象,是古代中国劳动人民的智慧结晶,对后世的文化发展都有深远的影响。本文搜集了现有的5个较有影响力的《诗经》英译版本,通过实例比较分析各版本的方法,得出各版本在文化传递方面的成就和缺陷。由于《诗经》内容非常丰富,限于篇幅本文着重研究诗歌中动植物的意象,以揭示其中的文化内涵,由此探究译文如何发挥准确而有效地传递文化的功能,同时说明实现文化翻译目的的重要性。
