【摘要】:本报告以英国自然学家海伦·麦克唐纳的回忆录《我与雄鹰》(H Is for Hawk)第21至24章为翻译语料。该回忆录是以事实为基础的传记文学作品,既有真实性,更富文学性,讲述了作者通过训练一只叫梅布尔(Mabel)的苍鹰最终接受丧亲事实并重新点燃生活希望的故事。第21至24章是全书的高潮,细致地描写了海伦的心理变化以及她与猎鹰之间的复杂关系。除了精彩的故事情节,该作品还具有广泛的社会影响。本书由兰登书屋出版发行后仅两个月便名列畅销书单。海伦本人也凭借这本书一举斩获塞缪尔·约翰逊奖等多个奖项。本报告侧重于解决由文体引起的来自词汇和句法层面的难点,并提出了相应的翻译策略和方法。在词汇层面,形象生动的字母符号、动词以及形容词,在中文语言环境中很难找到对应。对此,译者灵活运用了直译和意译相结合的方法,保留了原文的形象性。在句法层面,文本存在大量的长难句,包含了集中凝练的信息,以及复杂的结构和语义关系。为此,译者相应地采用拆分法、语态转换,以及信息重组等翻译策略,力图更好地传递文本信息,并符合中文的逻辑顺序和语言体系要求。通过此次实践,译者意识到文学文本的文体与词法和句法之间的紧密联系,并有意识地借鉴多种翻译策略尽可能地满足文体的再现。同时,笔者明确地意识到杂学的重要性,致力在今后的实践中加以提高。
[Abstract]:This report is based on chapters 21 to 24 of British naturalist Helen McDonald's memoir, "I and the Eagle". The memoir is a fact-based biographical work, both authentic and more literary, and tells the story of the author's eventual acceptance of the fact of bereavement and the rekindling of hope by training a goshawk named Mabel. Chapters 21-24 are the climax of the book, describing in detail Helen's psychological changes and the complex relationship between her and Falcon. In addition to the wonderful storyline, the work also has a wide range of social impact. The book was on the best seller list just two months after it was published at Langdon House. Helen herself won several awards, including the Samuel Johnson Prize, for her book. This report focuses on solving the stylistic difficulties from the lexical and syntactic levels and proposes corresponding translation strategies and methods. At the lexical level, vivid alphabetic symbols, verbs and adjectives are difficult to find in Chinese language environments. To this end, the translator uses the combination of literal translation and free translation flexibly to preserve the image of the original text. At the syntactic level, the text has a large number of long and difficult sentences, including condensed information, complex structure and semantic relations. Therefore the translator adopts translation strategies such as split method voice conversion and information recombination in order to transfer text information better and meet the requirements of Chinese logical order and language system. Through this practice, the translator realizes the close relationship between the style of the literary text and the lexical and syntactic aspects, and consciously draws on various translation strategies to satisfy the reappearance of the literary style as far as possible. At the same time, the author clearly realizes the importance of miscellaneous learning, and tries to improve it in the future practice.
