论张谷若《德伯家的苔丝》译本乡土色彩的重构

【摘要】: 翻译家张谷若以成功译介哈代的三部小说《还乡》、《德伯家的苔丝》、《无名的裘德》而著名,其中《德伯家的苔丝》译本最受广大读者欢迎,深受学者们好评,译本中所采用的四字格、方言对译和“直译加注释”等策略也受到学者们的关注和研究。然而上述研究并未从整体上探讨这些翻译策略的一个突出作用:重构乡土色彩。本文从功能对等角度出发,分析张谷若在翻译时如何运用这些策略重构原文中的乡土色彩,并探讨张谷若在译本中凸现这种乡土色彩的原因。 第一章,探讨张谷若译本“地方色彩”的重构。原文中的“地方色彩”包括独特的“威塞克斯”地理风貌和“威塞克斯”方言,张谷若运用中国的四字格成功地重构了风景如画的威塞克斯风光,让中国读者能像英国读者那样得到启发和感动;采用山东方言对译原文中的威塞克斯方言,使原文中威塞克斯方言所具有的凸现乡土气息和刻画乡土人物的作用得以传递,从而最大程度地实现了“功能对等”。 第二章,探讨张谷若译本“风俗画面”的呈现。本文从中英翻译角度把原文的风俗文化分为两类:与中国相似的风俗文化和与中国不同的风俗文化。针对两种不同的风俗,张谷若分别运用“贴切的自然对等语”和“直译加注释”两种翻译策略,这两种翻译策略各有所长,相互补充,从而最大程度地呈现了原文中的“风俗画面”。由于注释性的翻译策略是张谷若译本的重要特色,本章也详细讨论了《德伯家的苔丝》中注释的主要内容及其意义。 第三章,分析张谷若译本凸现乡土色彩的原因。张谷若在译文中能成功重构原文的乡土气息,最大程度地达到功能对等,主要受三个因素的影响:张谷若的翻译思想、张谷若的“乡土情结”和时代诗学。
[Abstract]:The translator Zhang Guru is famous for his successful translation of Hardy's three novels return to Home, Tess of the d'Urbervilles, Jude the unknown. Among them, Tess of the Decaux d'Urbervilles is the most popular among the readers and highly praised by scholars. The translation strategies of four-character lattice, dialect translation and literal translation plus annotation are also concerned and studied by scholars. However, the above studies have not explored one of the outstanding roles of these translation strategies: the reconstruction of local color. From the perspective of functional equivalence, this paper analyzes how Zhang Guru uses these strategies to reconstruct the native color of the original text, and discusses the reasons why Zhang Guru shows this kind of local color in the translation. The first chapter discusses the reconstruction of Zhang Gurou's Local Color. The "local color" in the original text includes the unique geographical features of "Wessex" and the "Wessex" dialect. Zhang Gu-ruo successfully reconstructs the picturesque Wessex scenery by using the four-character pattern of China. To enable Chinese readers to be inspired and moved like British readers; By using the Wessex dialect of Shandong dialect to translate the original text, the local flavor of the original text and the role of depicting the local characters can be transferred, thus realizing the "functional equivalence" to the greatest extent. The second chapter discusses the presentation of Zhang Guruo's Custom Picture. This paper classifies the customs and cultures of the original text into two categories from the perspective of Chinese-English translation: the customs and cultures similar to those of China and those different from those of China. According to the two different customs, Zhang Guru uses two translation strategies of "appropriate natural equivalents" and "literal translation plus annotations" respectively. These two translation strategies have their own strengths and complement each other. In order to maximize the presentation of the original "custom picture". As annotated translation strategy is an important feature of Zhang Gu-ruo 's translation, this chapter also discusses in detail the main contents and significance of the annotations in Tess of the Decaux d'Urbervilles. The third chapter analyzes the reason why Zhang Gurou's translation highlights the local color. Zhang Guru can successfully reconstruct the native flavor of the original text and achieve functional equivalence to the greatest extent, which is mainly influenced by three factors: Zhang Guru's translation thought, Zhang Guruo's "local complex" and the poetics of the times.
