从言语幽默概论视角探讨莫言小说《四十一炮》中汉语幽默文本的英译

【摘要】：幽默在人们日常生活中随处可见,作为一种语言现象,有着特殊的语用效果。学者们已从不同的角度,如哲学、心理学、语言学、社会学等角度对幽默进行了研究。Attardo的言语幽默概论(GTVH)被认为是迄今为止最有影响的关于幽默的语言学理论。言语幽默概论提出幽默文本包含六大知识资源或六大参数(语言、叙述策略、对象、情境、逻辑机制和脚本对立),并指出这六大参数呈层级排列,位于最高层的脚本对立最重要。本研究以言语幽默概论为理论基础,选用莫言小说《四十一炮》及葛浩文的英译本POW!中的言语幽默为研究对象,建立英汉双语平行数据库,旨在分析小说中汉语言语幽默的特点,探讨三类幽默的可译程度,具体分析三类幽默的翻译方法,以期为今后言语幽默研究和言语幽默翻译带来启示,并为运用言语幽默概论进行相关研究提供借鉴。研究发现,六大参数在译文中保留不变使概念幽默具有最佳可译性,而参数的变化尤其是脚本对立的消失是文化专属类幽默和文字游戏类幽默一直以来难以翻译的原因。虽然不同幽默的可译程度不同,采用怎样的翻译方法也是幽默能否成功传递的重要一环。总之,无论采用何种翻译方法,译文要尽量保留六个参数,特别是脚本对立参数。
