福克纳小说中的希伯来神话叙事研究

【摘要】：威廉·福克纳（1897 1962）不仅是美国南方文学最杰出的代表作家，也是一位极具影响力的美国作家，也是被研究较多的英语作家之一。他的小说充满了神话传说——希伯来神话《圣经》的典故，塑造了许多与《圣经》中人物相近似的形象。然而，福克纳对《圣经》的运用不仅仅是对其内容的运用，还是对其叙事形式的模拟。本论文将结合神话原型理论和叙事学理论探讨福克纳是如何将希伯来神话以不同的叙述方式编织到作品中，以不同的神话叙事表现形式展现现代人的现代神话，体现福克纳式的独特写作风格。本论文首先分析福克纳创作中表现出的圣经情结的来源，从福克纳当时所处的社会环境、家庭背景以及其个人偏好三个方面来分析福克纳本人的圣经情结的根源：动荡的社会和神话的复兴是福克纳向《圣经》寻求出路的现实基础，浓厚的基督教家庭环境使得福克纳耳濡目染；因而，《圣经》成为他业余时间首要读物。随后本文将结合神话原型理论和叙事学理论，以多重叙述视角、倒U型叙事结构、基督教神话时间和空间背景等四个不同叙事形式来观照福克纳小说中的神话运用，借助福克纳若干部具有代表性的小说，探讨其小说中存在的希伯来神话叙事的表现形式。接着本文继续阐释福克纳神话叙事创作的意义，认为福克纳希望在其作品中通过对《圣经》的借用，透过小说中命运悲惨的人物来表达自己对美国南方没落的思考、对人类社会的思考，传达对身处苦难中人民的同情；同时福克纳并未对创造一个更美好的社会失望，失去信心，透过小说中乐于助人、具有奉献精神的人物形象来寄予对现代人的希望，希望现代人能够互爱互助，，勇于承担起自己的家庭责任和社会责任。本论文结合神话原型理论和叙事学理论，分析福克纳小说中的希伯来神话叙事形式，旨在揭示福克纳对《圣经》的借用不仅仅存在于内容，还存在于其叙事形式，警醒人们关爱他人，勇于承担责任，进而获得救赎。
[Abstract]:William Faulkner (1897 / 1962) is not only the most outstanding representative of American Southern literature, but also an influential American writer. He is also one of the most studied English writers. His novels are full of myths and legends-the Hebrew mythology and the Bible, and create many images similar to those of the characters in the Bible. However, Faulkner's use of the Bible is not just about its content. This thesis will discuss how Faulkner weaves Hebrew mythology into his works in different narrative ways by combining mythology prototype theory and narratology theory. The modern mythology of modern people is displayed in different forms of mythological narration, and the unique writing style of Faulkner is embodied. This thesis first analyzes the source of the biblical complex in Faulkner's creation, and analyzes the social environment in which Faulkner lived at that time. The family background and his personal preferences are used to analyze the root of Faulkner's biblical complex: the revival of turbulent society and mythology is the realistic basis for Faulkner to seek a way out from the Bible. The strong Christian family environment makes Faulkner become the first reader in his spare time. Then this paper will combine the mythological archetypal theory and narratology theory and use multiple narrative perspectives to reverse the U-shaped narrative structure. Four different narrative forms of Christian mythology, such as time and space background, are used to study the use of mythology in Faulkner's novels, with the help of the representative novels of Faulknaruo cadres. This paper further explains the significance of Faulkner's mythological narrative creation, and thinks that Faulkner hopes to borrow the Bible in his works. Through the tragic fate of the characters in the novel to express their thoughts on the decline of the southern United States, to reflect on human society, to convey sympathy for the people in distress; at the same time, Faulkner did not lose confidence in the creation of a better society. Through the characters who are willing to help others and have the spirit of dedication in the novel, we hope that the modern people can love and help each other and take on their own family and social responsibilities. This paper analyzes the Hebrew mythological narrative form in Faulkner's novels by combining the mythological archetypal theory and narratology theory in order to reveal that Faulkner's borrowing of the Bible exists not only in its content but also in its narrative form. Alert people to care for others, the courage to take responsibility, and then to achieve redemption.
