逃避过程中的成长─析成长小说视野下的《愤怒》

【摘要】:菲利普·罗斯是当代最具影响力的美国犹太作家之一。发表于2008年的《愤怒》是罗斯探讨美国犹太人生存状况的又一部力作,展现了美国历史对脆弱个体的摧残。罗斯将主人公置于朝鲜战争这一宏大的历史背景之下,讲述了犹太青年马科斯从一位优秀的学生逐渐走向毁灭的失败的成长经历。本文选取了罗斯的《愤怒》作为研究主题,通过从成长小说的角度详细解读文本来探究主人公在逃避过程中的成长,主人公逃避的原因,和其成长的失败。本文认为《愤怒》确实是一部成功的成长小说。它不仅继承了成长小说的传统,还为这一小说体裁注入了新的活力。尽管主人公最后失败了,但他在逃避的过程中的确经历了成长。主人公的逃避是社会和历史条件下各种力量共同作用导致的,他最后无处可逃的状态也是由他的犹太人的特殊身份所致。他成长的失败不是个人性格缺陷的结果,,而是特定社会环境下的必然产物。 本论文由六个章节组成: 第一章简单介绍菲利普·罗斯的生平及其创作生涯,《愤怒》的国内外研究现状,和本论文研究目的及意义。第二章提出研究的理论基础,介绍成长小说的定义和成长小说的研究现状,并探讨从成长小说视角来解读《愤怒》的可行性。第三章致力于探讨主人公在逃避过程中的成长。本部分首先展现逃避主题的背景和意蕴,然后分析主人公的三种逃避策略,最后探讨主人公逃避过程中所经历的成长。第四章研究主人公逃避的原因,包括家庭的影响,社会环境的影响,以及主人公愤怒情绪的影响。第五章阐释主人公逃避的结果。他成长的失败表现为无法逃避的“战争”,个体的毁灭,犹太家庭的悲剧结局,和美国梦的破灭。第六章为论文结论。结论认为《愤怒》是一部成功的现代美国犹太成长小说。罗斯通过对个体成长的探究向读者生动地展现了现代美国犹太人的生存困境。主人公的成长对解决现代青年成长中的问题有着重要的指导意义。
[Abstract]:Philip Ross is one of the most influential American Jewish writers in the contemporary era. "Anger", published in 2008, is another masterpiece of Ross's discussion of the existence of American Jews, showing the devastation of American history on vulnerable individuals. Ross tells the hero of the Jewish youth horse in the grand historical background of the Korean War. Kos from a good student to the failure of the failure of the growth experience. This article selected Ross's < anger > as the theme of the study, through a detailed interpretation of the text from the perspective of the growth novel to explore the protagonist's growth in the escape process, the cause of the hero evasion, and the failure of his growth. It not only inherits the tradition of the growth novel, but also inject new vitality into the novel style. Although the hero finally failed, he did experience growth in the process of escaping. The hero's escape is the result of the common effect of various forces under the social and historical conditions, and the last place he has to escape. His failure to grow up is not the result of personal defects, but the inevitable outcome of a particular social environment.
This thesis consists of six chapters:
The first chapter briefly introduces Philip Ross's life and his creative career, the current research status of anger at home and abroad, and the purpose and significance of this thesis. The second chapter puts forward the theoretical basis of the study, introduces the definition of the growth novel and the research status of the growth novel, and discusses the feasibility of reading < anger > from the perspective of the growth novel. Third chapters This part focuses on the development of the protagonist in the escape process. This part first presents the background and implication of the escape theme, then analyzes the protagonist's three evasion strategies, and finally explores the growth of the protagonist in the process of escaping. The fourth chapter studies the reasons for the protagonist's escape, including the influence of the family, the influence of the social environment, and the master. The fifth chapter explains the result of the hero's escape. The failure of his growth is shown as an inescapable "war", the destruction of the individual, the tragic ending of the Jewish family, and the disillusionment of the American dream. The sixth chapter is the conclusion of the thesis. The conclusion is that anger is a successful modern American Jewish growth novel. Ross passed through The exploration of the growth of the body vividly reveals the predicament of the existence of modern American Jews. The growth of the protagonist has an important guiding significance to solve the problems in the growth of modern youth.
