解读《大名人亨利》中的爱尔兰民族主义

【摘要】：对于19世纪末20世纪初的爱尔兰，民族主义是个热门话题。那时，爱尔兰人民渴望从英国的压迫中解脱出来。于是在一群著名的民族主义者的领导下，在爱尔兰的政治，经济，文化领域中掀起了一系列的民族独立运动。《一个叫亨利的名人》是罗迪·多伊尔的一部著名的小说，它描述了主人公亨利在20世纪初爱尔兰民族主义运动中的所见所闻，除了主人公亨利以外，小说中的次要人物也对亨利的民族主义观产生了一定的影响。本文从民族主义出发，通过小说中不同角色的民族主义观，描绘爱尔兰民族主义的特点，旨在挖掘作者对爱尔兰民族主义运动的看法。 本文由五部分构成，第一部分是一个简短的介绍，主要介绍作者以及他的众多作品、小说的情节、爱尔兰民族主义的发展和文献综述。第二部分则主要分析主人公亨利，集中讨论亨利的民族主义观的演变。演变共经历过三个时期，第一个阶段，亨利童年的不幸经历迫使他参加复活节起义，这时亨利把民族主义运动当做对他所遭受的压迫的一种报复性行为。第二个阶段，亨利重新加入爱尔兰民族独立运动，直接和英国军队作战，表现出了对民族主义运动的绝对忠诚。第三个阶段，，亨利意识到爱尔兰民族主义运动的实质，爱尔兰的独立并非他以及其他民族主义份子的真正目标。第三部分主要讨论小说中的次要人物在民族主义运动中的经历，分析他们对待民族主义运动的态度。这些人物的观点可分为两组，第一组主要是一些女性角色，她们主要追求公平的女性权力，这些爱尔兰妇女在爱尔兰男尊女卑的社会中饱受忽视和压迫，她们渴望关怀和平等。为了实现愿望，她们间接或直接地加入到爱尔兰民族主义运动的活动中。另一组主要包括五位男性人物，在民族主义运动中，他们主要是为了各种不同的利益而斗争。第四部分则从小说主人公和次要角色的民族主义观出发，集中概括小说中体现的爱尔兰民族主义特点，这些特点主要和政治、经济上的利益冲突以及文化差异有关。
[Abstract]:Nationalism was a hot topic in Ireland in the late 19 th and early 20 th centuries. At that time, the Irish people were eager to extricate themselves from British oppression. So under the leadership of a group of famous nationalists, there was a series of national independence movements in the political, economic and cultural fields of Ireland. "A celebrity named Henry" is a famous novel by Roddy Doyle. It describes Henry, the protagonist, who saw and heard in the Irish nationalist movement at the beginning of the 20th century. Besides Henry, the minor characters in the novel also had a certain influence on Henry's view of nationalism. From the perspective of nationalism, this paper depicts the characteristics of Irish nationalism through the nationalism views of different characters in the novel, aiming at excavating the author's views on the Irish nationalist movement, which is composed of five parts. The first part is a brief introduction to the author and his numerous works, the plot of the novel, the development of Irish nationalism and literature review. The second part mainly analyzes the protagonist Henry, focusing on the evolution of Henry's view of nationalism. In the first stage Henry's unfortunate childhood experience forced him to take part in the Easter uprising when Henry regarded the nationalist movement as a retribution for the oppression he had suffered. In the second stage, Henry rejoined the Irish National Independence Movement and fought directly with the British army, showing absolute loyalty to the nationalist movement. In the third stage, Henry realized the essence of the Irish nationalist movement and that Irish independence was not his real goal and that of other nationalists. The third part mainly discusses the experience of the minor characters in the nationalist movement and analyzes their attitude towards the nationalist movement. The views of these figures can be divided into two groups. The first group is mainly female characters, who mainly pursue fair female power. These Irish women are neglected and oppressed in the Irish society where men are inferior to women, and they yearn for care and equality. In order to realize their wishes, they joined the Irish nationalist movement indirectly or directly. The other group consists mainly of five male figures who, in the nationalist movement, fought mainly for various interests. The fourth part starts from the nationalism view of the protagonist and the secondary characters, and summarizes the characteristics of Irish nationalism embodied in the novel, which are mainly related to the conflict of interest in politics, economy and cultural differences.
