[Abstract]:Jane Smiley is an influential contemporary American woman writer who describes the lives of ordinary Americans. His masterpiece, "one thousand acres" (1991), reflects Smiley's deep thinking on the relationship between man and land by telling the story of the sharp contradictions between people in contemporary American agricultural communities because of the land. According to Aldo Leopold's land ethics, this paper focuses on the narrative clues of the novel "one thousand acres", and explores the heroine Ginny's gradual understanding of the relationship between herself and land. In order to awaken people to re-establish the road of harmonious coexistence consciousness. In addition to the introduction and conclusions, this paper is divided into three chapters. Chapter one explains the relationship between land and women in the whole ecosystem in three aspects. Both the earth and the female body bear the responsibility of giving birth to life; the wanton flow of water enlightens women's thoughts; and plants and animals are closely related to women's emotions. Chapter two analyzes the tragic experiences of land and women in the ecosystem. The land was badly damaged by the cruel oppression of farmers. The seemingly fertile and soft land is essentially barren, with its clean water serving as a filthy garbage dump, and its diverse flora and fauna slaughtered for lack of "value". Similarly, women living under male rule are subservient to men and, if raped, remain silent. The similarity of destiny makes women realize clearly that they are part of the community of land. Chapter three explores the resistance between land and women. The land of silence is no longer silent, it penalizes people in its own way, and the once-mighty male farmers end up paying a terrible price for their actions; Women who have experienced a series of tribulations have come to realize their own and the living state of the land, speak for themselves and the land, and strongly accuse men of destroying the land and women. Based on the above analysis, this paper points out that the narration of the similar destiny of women and land implies the self-awakening of the heroine Ginny and the human beings in < 1000 acres >. Especially the tragic experience of women and the severe situation of land further warn people: if we do not strengthen the ecological consciousness, do not give the land ethical care, then the human will eventually disaster itself.
