[Abstract]:Amy Tan is an outstanding writer in Chinese American literature. Her numerous works depict the immigrant history and the growing history of Chinese American women with rich stories of Chinese women, such as the Joy Luck Club. The female images in this work can be divided into three categories: native female image, immigrant female image and ABC female image. "Native female image" refers to women who lived in old China and never left it. Such as the "Joy Luck Club" in Anmei's mother. Under the influence of patriarchal culture, these women lost themselves and led a life without dignity. The term "immigrant female image" refers to a woman who, although born in China, later emigrated to the United States for some reason. Like the four mothers in the Joy Luck Club. Influenced by the new cultural movement, they gradually awoke to their subjective consciousness. These women are not only tolerant, virtuous and strong, but also have a certain degree of self-confidence, courage and understanding. "ABC female image" refers to the descendants of Chinese immigrants born in the United States and brought up in the United States. Like the daughters of the Joy Luck. These women were educated in American culture from an early age, and the conflict between Chinese and Western cultures was more evident in them. In this special environment, they constantly look for themselves, shape themselves, and finally become the master of destiny. From silence to awakening to self-improvement, women's subjective consciousness develops slowly. With the awakening of subject consciousness, women gradually realize that they do not have to be at the mercy of fate and can freely choose to improve themselves. Since then, they have taken the initiative to change the situation of marginalization, bravely voice their own voice, and the courage to fight against injustice and discrimination, self-reliance. As Chinese-American women, they constantly seek their own cultural identity, and finally realize that they should combine the two cultures, both to inherit the fine traditions of Chinese culture and to absorb the essence of American culture at the same time. So as to construct their unique cultural identity. In addition, Amy Tan also skillfully uses various narrative strategies to explore the development of Chinese women's subjective consciousness and their mental process. For example, the use of storytelling to break the silence is that women can make a voice and gain the right to speak, and use different narrators to construct the identity of characters and so on. These reflect the relationship between the text structure of Joy Luck Club and the development of female subject consciousness. Through this work, Amy Tan constructed a new image of Chinese women. These women accept both Chinese and Western cultures, do not exclude either side, and absorb the essence of the two to promote the integration of the two. They not only show their own style of Chinese culture, but also independent, competitive and independent consciousness. Only in this way can Chinese-American women integrate into the mainstream American society and become strong in life.
