精神成长之旅—《雨王汉德森》的及物性分析

【摘要】：索尔·贝娄（1915-2005）是美国当代最杰出的犹太裔作家，为表彰他对当代文化富于人性的理解和精妙的分析，1976年被授予诺贝尔文学奖。《雨王汉德森》是他的第五部长篇小说，发表于1959年，自从发表50余年以来，一直受到各个流派的关注。本文试采用韩礼德（Halliday）的及物性系统来分析汉德森的精神成长之旅。分析的模式包括：分析同一旅行阶段的不同及物性过程之间的百分比；比较不同旅行阶段的同个及物性过程之间的百分比；探讨及物性过程本身隐含的意义。本文共分为五章。第一章主要介绍作者索尔·贝娄以及他的作品《雨王汉德森》。第二章分类综述了国内外对此作品的现有研究。综述结果显示：及物性系统理论还未曾涉及，而本文的研究角度恰好填补了这一空缺。第三章是理论部分，，主要介绍及物性系统中的六个及物性过程（物质过程，心理过程，关系过程，行为过程，言语过程，存在过程）以及各个及物性过程的主要成分。第四章是本文的主体部分，分析并比较了选段中的及物性过程，证明了汉德森的非洲旅行是一次精神上的救赎与重生之旅。第五章则是本文的结论部分，总结了汉德森的精神成长变化过程：从内心混乱到内心平静；从逃避社会到融入社会；从暴躁无情到充满爱心。
[Abstract]:Saul Bellow (1915-2005) is the most outstanding contemporary Jewish writer in the United States. He was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1976 in recognition of his humane understanding of contemporary culture and sophisticated analysis. Henderson the Rain King is his fifth novel. Published in 1959, since the publication of more than 50 years, has been concerned by various schools. This paper tries to analyze Henderson's journey of spiritual growth by using Halliday (Halliday) and physical system. The modes of analysis include: analyzing the different stages of the same travel and the percentage of the physical processes; comparing the percentages of the same and the physical processes of the different travel stages; discussing the implied meanings of the physical processes themselves. This paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter introduces Saul Bellow and his works Henderson the Rain King. The second chapter classifies and summarizes the existing research on this work at home and abroad. The results show that the theory of physical property system has not been involved, but the research angle of this paper just fills the gap. The third chapter is the theoretical part, which mainly introduces the six transitivity processes (physical process, psychological process, relational process, behavior process, speech process, existential process) and the main components of each and every transitivity process. Chapter four is the main part of this paper, which analyzes and compares the material process in the selected paragraphs, and proves that Henderson's trip to Africa is a spiritual journey of redemption and rebirth. Chapter five is the conclusion of this paper, which summarizes Henderson's changing process of spiritual growth: from inner chaos to inner peace; from escaping from society to integration into society; from irritability to ruthlessness to being full of love.
