【摘要】：随着中国对外交流的发展,翻译已然成为了中国文化走出去的重要方式。然而,在翻译的过程中,人们发现由于中西文化的差异,汉英翻译,尤其是中国的文化负载词的翻译障碍重重。因而在翻译中选择一个好的策略尤为重要。1989年中国著名翻译家王佐良先生提出了包裹糖衣的策略,13年后,孙艺风教授更进一步解读了糖衣翻译,并建议在今日对外翻译中我们也应该裹着糖衣向外输出我们的本土文化。 然而,根据作者收集到的资料来看,除了这两位大家以外,对糖衣这一翻译策略的研究少之又少,而其具体的做法也是无人研究。因此,本文把“糖衣翻译”作为研究对象,在借鉴前人相关研究的基础上从后殖民主义理论的视角来解读这一个翻译策略。本文采用了定性研究的方法。通过列举实例,介绍相关文献,以及文本比较等方法来说明糖衣翻译的重要性,以及在对外交流中如何包裹糖衣,传播中国文化。 本文首先根据前人的研究定义糖衣翻译,提出糖衣翻译在传播文化中的重要性。然后通过对《京华烟云》中文化负载词的英文表达的分析研究糖衣翻译的具体策略。 具体来讲,本文以林语堂所著《京华烟云》为个案分析,通过林语堂对其中汉语文化词的英文表述的研究,探索在全球化的背景下,糖衣翻译的运用和影响。通过研究本文得出如下结论：1)通过对糖衣翻译,语言,文化联系的分析,提出在对外翻译时可以采用糖衣翻译,在保持中国文化的独特性的基础上增加翻译文本的可读性；2)通过对《京华烟云》里面文化负载词翻译的分析,提出糖衣翻译能够在最大的可能上求同存异,实现汉语(中国文化)和英语(西方文化)的相对平衡；3)糖衣翻译可以通过添加,解释,再创造等方式达到。 在后殖民主义的语境下糖衣翻译能够在不影响中西交流的同时最大限度的保持中国文化的独特性。本文通过对糖衣翻译的研究,尤其是它对于文化特色词这种特殊语言形式的翻译研究发现糖衣翻译能够从中西文化的交汇点来阐述标明中国文化之于西方文化的特殊性。鉴于此,本文认为糖衣翻译亦可广泛运用于今后的跨文化交际和翻译中,传播中国文化,并作为另一种有效的文化抵抗策略,防止文化霸权的产生。
