论舍伍德·安德森短篇小说中的人物创造

舍伍德?安德森在文学历史上一直是个颇具争议的作家,而且自从他的第一部小说Windy Mcpherson’s Son出版后,对他及其作品的评论就没一直没停止过。而一直以来,对他的评论无外乎以下几个方面:安德森在美国文学上的地位和影响,他所处的文学流派,他作品的主题和他所运用的创作技巧等等。但自从二十世纪六十年代以来,文学评论界开始对舍伍德?安德森及其作品重新审视,以期对他的作品,他与其时代的关系以及他在美国二十世纪文学发展中所起的作用获得更加全面的了解。现在评论家们基本认定他是美国过渡时期非常重要的作家,认为他是现代主义的先驱。特别是在短篇小说形式、主题、风格和人物创造上,安德森都是一个开创者,有自己独特之处。但是舍伍德?安德森人物创造还没有引起足够的关注。他的人物创作技巧、小说人物的特性及其作品中人物所处的文化背景是本篇论文的主要内容。由于安德森通常被认为是一个短篇小说家,而且他的短篇小说人物创造又极具特色,所以本篇论文主要围绕其四部短篇小说集来进行讨论,也就是Winesburg, Ohio (1919), The Triumph of the Egg (1921), Horses a...
