《论语》两个译本的比较研究

【摘要】：《论语》是儒家经典的重要组成部分之一，因此其翻译是中外文化交流的重要内容。论文选取著名苏格兰汉学家理雅各在1893年翻译的《中国经典》，以及中国清朝术年民国初期文坛怪杰辜鸿铭翻译的两部具有代表性的《论语》的英译本，依据奈达的功能对等理论以及德国功能翻译理论，从语言、文化两方面进行对比研究，，以求探索、揭示中国古代文献的翻译规律。 论文的总论简介《论语》的版本、内容、发展历史，揭示《论语》西传的情况，回顾学者对《论语》英译的研究成果。论文的第二章基于奈达的功能对等理论，从词汇、句法与风格三个层次分析两个译本的语言得失，验证译文是否呈现了与原文最自然、贴切的对等表述以及其相应的方法。论文的第三章基于德国功能翻译理论，分析两个译本在良名，特别是人名，物质文化等方面的翻译策略：归化或者异化。根据功能翻译理论最重要的理论目的论，翻译目的决定翻译行为。译者在翻译过程中总是自觉或不自觉地以某个译本接受者为对象，使得译本在目的语中具有某种功能。翻译的目的不同，会产生截然不同的翻译策略。译本各有千秋，读者也应该根据自己的阅读兴趣与需要，选择不同的译本。
