【摘要】：本文主要研究方重先生在《陶渊明诗文选译》中的翻译特点。方重先生曾是著名的英美文学专家、中英文翻译家和上海外国语大学受人尊重的教授，其主要研究成果包括乔叟和陶渊明。从他开始翻译陶渊明诗文，到《陶渊明诗文选译》的发表，用了近四十年的时间，此译作也因此被称为其一生努力之成果。但是，迄今为止，学术界对此几乎没有系统的学术研究，这对于翻译研究的发展是一大损失。 本文的首要目的是发现和归纳方重先生在陶渊明诗歌翻译中的特点。文本分析是本论文的核心部分，，文章将从字词、语句和篇章三个层次出发，仔细阅读研究方重先生译文并对比其他译者的译本，以总结方重先生的翻译特点并探讨其翻译方法和观点，期望对翻译研究者和后学者起到启发作用。同时，文章将借鉴许渊冲先生针对诗歌翻译的“三美”论，对所总结的翻译特点进行一定的评析，研究各项特点在表达原文“意美”、“音美”和“形美”上的长处和不足，并对方重先生为表现“意美”而对“音美”和“形美”的表达方式上所作的调整做出客观评价和提出相应建议。
