【摘要】：对话是小说中很重要的一部分,是刻画人物形象、凸显人物性格特点的有效手段。在翻译小说时,对其中人物对话的翻译不容忽视。本文以《阿Q正传》中的人物对话为语料,采用莱尔的译本,通过维索尔伦的顺应论对其中对话的翻译进行了研究,旨在探讨在对话的翻译过程中顺应论是如何指导译者做出恰当的选择以满足译文读者的各种需要,以及原文和译文在对话的语言选择方面都做出了哪些不同的顺应。 维索尔伦的顺应论认为语言的使用是在不同的意识程度下为适应交际需要而不断做出选择的过程。作为一种跨语言交际活动,翻译是一个涉及双语的特殊的选择过程,从选取原语材料、译者自身文化立场到翻译策略和翻译方法的选择,无不贯穿着社会、文化、认知等因素的互动选择机制。语境是语言运用过程中一个非常重要的因素,而翻译更是涉及了两种语境。本文从顺应论中语境关系顺应的角度出发,探讨了语境顺应在小说对话翻译中的运用以及对其的重要意义。 本文首先介绍了小说对话的特点、功能以及对其翻译的研究现状,指出目前的研究仍然存在着许多不足之处,接着综述顺应论对翻译所做出的研究,进一步证明了该理论对翻译具有一定的解释力,但是把它运用于小说对话翻译的研究还略显不足。因此,本文提出将语境顺应应用于小说对话的翻译中,构建了自己的理论框架。在翻译小说对话的过程中,译者要做出恰当的语言选择来顺应维索尔伦所提的语境的五个方面,即语言使用者、心理世界、社交世界、物理世界和语言语境。作为两种语言的中介人,译者不仅要考虑顺应译文的语境还要尽可能的保留原文的特色。本研究通过结合从《阿Q正传》及其英译本中选取的对话作语料进行了详细的分析,发现在翻译过程中译者从不同的角度出发,在语境的五个方面上都做出了相应的顺应,并且译文在顺应读者的各种语境因素的基础上还保留了原文的风格和特色。而为了达到这一目的,译者采用了不同的翻译方法,如：加脚注,添加解释性词语,直译等。此外,本文通过对比原文和译文中的对话,发现原文作者和译者在对话的语言选择上都顺应了各自读者的认知、文化、时间方位指示和语言表达方式等因素。 顺应论对小说对话的翻译起着相当重要的指导作用。将其应用于小说对话翻译,为小说对话翻译研究提供了一种新思路,同时也扩大了翻译研究的视野,为译者提供了一种较新的指导方法。
