目的论视角下《红楼梦》中文化缺省的翻译

【摘要】：在写作时,作者往往将自身与其意向读者所共有的文化背景知识进行省略,这种省略便是文化缺省。文化缺省可以提高作者和其意向读者之间的交际效率,给意向读者提供想象空间,增加作品的美学效果。但是译文的目标读者由于其文化背景的差异,不可能像原文的意向读者那样获得对文化缺省的连贯的理解。这样文化缺省就给翻译带来了困难。《红楼梦》是我国古典文学中一部不朽的杰作,无论是其思想内容还是艺术成就,都达到了中国古典小说的巅峰,是我国文学宝库中一颗璀璨的明珠。《红楼梦》中处处都折射着丰富多彩的中华民族的文化内涵。其博大精深的语言,作者的独具匠心,对世间百态的细致描绘都使得这部作品处处体现着极其深厚的中国传统文化的气息。《红楼梦》中所体现的中国传统文化不仅是中华民族的艺术瑰宝,同样也是成为世界文学之林的一株奇葩。因此《红楼梦》的翻译有助于中国文化的传播。然而《红楼梦》中文化缺省的翻译对于译者是一大挑战。以往对于《红楼梦》中文化缺省的翻译的研究往往是基于某种具体的翻译策略与方法来进行评论,所以得出的结论也是各不相同。本文将从目的论的视角来分析《红楼梦》中文化缺省的翻译。目的论是德国功能主义翻译理论的重要组成部分。目的论认为翻译的目的是是翻译活动中最重要的原则,翻译策略与方法都要由翻译的目的决定并且服务于翻译的目的。杨宪益夫妇的翻译目的是为了传播中国文化,因此多采用异化的翻译方法尽可能的保留原文中的中国文化。而霍克斯则是为了让译文读者得到阅读的快乐,所以多采用归化译法以使译文通顺流畅,便于读者接受。本文主要分为六章。第一章为引言,介绍了研究的起因,研究的目的和意义以及论文结构。第二章为文献综述,介绍了国内外目的论研究发展与现状以及翻译中文化缺省问题的研究状况。第三章对文化缺省进行分析,介绍了文化、语言与翻译的关系,文化缺省的定义与成因及其功能。第四章从德国功能主义翻译理论入手,具体阐述目的论。第五章从目的论视角对比分析《红楼梦》两个英译版本中文化缺省的翻译。第六章为结论部分。

To provide the intended readers with imagination space to increase the aesthetic effect of the works. But the target readers of the target text, due to their cultural background, It is impossible to obtain a coherent understanding of cultural default as intended readers of the original text, which makes translation difficult. "A Dream of Red Mansions" is an immortal masterpiece in Chinese classical literature. Both its ideological content and its artistic achievements have reached the peak of Chinese classical novels. "A Dream of Red Mansions" reflects the rich and colorful cultural connotations of the Chinese nation. The meticulous depiction of the world's various states has made this work full of profound Chinese traditional culture. The traditional Chinese culture embodied in A Dream of Red Mansions is not only the artistic treasure of the Chinese nation. Therefore, the translation of Dream of Red Mansions is helpful to the spread of Chinese culture. However, the default translation of culture in Dream of Red Mansions is a great challenge to translators. The study of cultural default translation in Lou Meng is often based on some specific translation strategies and methods. Therefore, the conclusions are different. This paper analyzes the cultural default translation in A Dream of Red Mansions from the perspective of Skopos. Skopos theory is an important part of German functionalist translation theory. Skopos theory holds that Skopos is the most important principle in translation. Translation strategies and methods are determined by the purpose of translation and serve the purpose of translation. The translation purpose of Yang Xianyi and his wife is to spread Chinese culture. Therefore, foreignization is often used to preserve the Chinese culture in the original text as much as possible, and Hawks is to make the readers of the target text happy to read, so the domestication method is used to make the translation smooth and smooth and easy for the readers to accept. This paper is divided into six chapters. The first chapter is the introduction, which introduces the causes of the research, the purpose and significance of the study and the structure of the paper. This paper introduces the development and present situation of Skopos theory at home and abroad as well as the research status of cultural default in translation. Chapter three analyzes the cultural default and introduces the relationship between culture, language and translation. The definition, causes and functions of cultural default. Chapter 4th begins with German functionalist translation theory. Chapter 5th is a contrastive analysis of cultural default translation in the two English versions of A Dream of Red Mansions from the perspective of Skopos. Chapter 6th is the conclusion.
