多元系统理论下《鲁滨孙漂流记》两个中译本的对比研究

【摘要】：多元系统论是以色列学者埃文—佐哈尔在研究希伯来文学的过程中建立的翻译理论。多元系统论的提出提高了翻译研究的地位。因为在多元系统论中,翻译文学被视作一个单独的文学系统,在整个文学系统中,它既可以占主要位置,也可以占次要位置。此外,多元系统论的建立对从宏观上研究翻译现象和翻译策略是很有指导意义的。因为多元系统理论强调翻译过程中的历史和文化因素对翻译文学在整个文学系统中所处位置的影响,以及翻译文学所处的不同位置对译者采取不同翻译策略的影响。多元系统论对历史和文化因素的强调,可以从宏观上解释不同年代下不同翻译者采取不同翻译策略的原因。本文挑选了世界名著《鲁滨孙漂流记》的两个中译本—徐霞村版本和郭建中版本并且分析对比这两个中译本,发现徐霞村版更倾向于采用异化的翻译策略,而郭建中版更倾向于采用归化的翻译策略。不同译者采用不同翻译策略的原因也将会从多元系统论的角度进行分析解释。徐霞村版本于1959年出版发行,当时正是新中国成立初期。中国在经历了八年的抗日战争、人民解放战争和抗美援朝之后,文学处于一个空白期,文学形式单一,文学成果有限,在这种历史条件下,翻译文学就处于整个中国文学系统的中心位置,此时翻译活动的作用就是创造新的模式,因此徐霞村版本的《鲁滨孙漂流记》就更倾向于采用异化的翻译策略。郭建中版于1996年出版发行。当时文化大革命已经结束,改革开放也推行了将近十年,中国文学此时已经有了很大发展,文学创作丰富多样,文学作品产量丰富,在这种历史条件下,翻译文学在整个中国文学系统中处于边缘位置,此时翻译活动的作用就是在译入语文学系统中寻找已有的模式,因此郭建中版本的《鲁滨孙漂流记》就更倾向于采用归化的翻译策略。
