【摘要】：认知语言学是认知科学和语言学相结合形成的一门新的学科,作为一种新的研究视角,它研究语言的普遍原则和人的认知规律之间的关系。图形-背景理论是认知语言学中的一个重要概念,该理论反应了语言与认知的关系,它是基于认知视角的不同而使认知对象各部分的突显程度不同。图形是认知当中突出的部分,即注意的焦点部分；背景相对于图形而言在认知当中突显程度较低,可以看作认知参考点。该理论起源于格式塔心理学,由丹麦心理学家鲁宾在1915年首先提出。后来被认知语言学家应用于语言研究的诸多领域。 山水田园诗在中国古典诗歌中占有很重要的地位。中外学者长期以来致力于汉语古诗的翻译研究,并取得了不少成就,但是在保持原诗的音美、形美、意美上仍存在许多争议。图形-背景理论为翻译研究提供了一个新的视角。通过确定诗歌中意象的图形和背景地位,分析各个部分不同的凸显度,从而恰当地表达原诗的意境,使译诗中意象的凸显度和原诗保持一致。 本文主要采用比较分析的方法,运用图形-背景理论对不同译本的汉语山水田园诗的意义传达,意境的再现以及形式接近进行了分析。通过分析得出：图形-背景理论可以帮助译者更好地理解原文,并且指导译者恰当地用译入语传递原诗信息,正确传达原诗意境。认知语言学图形-背景理论为汉语山水田园诗翻译提供了一条新的途径。
