带“眼睛”习语的认知语义研究

习语在语言中占有很大的比重,并且起着重要的作用。源自历史、文化和人类的体验的习语几乎无处不在。国内和国外的语言学家对习语的研究由来已久。传统的语言学研究认为,习语像词汇一样是约定俗成的语言表达方式,有其独特的修辞功能、语用功能和独立于概念体系的特定语义。对习语的传统研究为习语的研究奠定了坚实的基础,但是在对习语的深入研究中传统研究存在一定的局限性。随着认知语言学的发展,对习语的研究发生了认知转向,许多语言学家开始用认知语言学的理论研究习语,他们认为习语的意义并非任意的,而是有理据的、可分析的。通过运用认知语言学理论对习语的分析,有利于人们理解成语的构造及其意义。本文将英语和汉语中带“眼睛”的习语作为一个案例,尝试用认知语言学的理论中的隐喻、转喻、隐转喻以及人们的日常经验四个方面进行全面地分析。文中涉及的英语习语主要是固定词组,不包含俚语和谚语。涉及的汉语习语主要是四字成语。通过认知语言学对眼睛习语意义构造的分析为其他与身体部位相关习语的研究提供一个新的思路。研究表明,带“眼睛”习语的意义建构不是任意的,而是建立在认知语义机制上的。分析的结果显示,在眼睛习语语义建构中,转喻起着比隐喻更为重...
