英汉民族的人格符号——从“gentleman”和“君子”谈起

【摘要】：洪堡特认为,一种语言的结构和特性能反映出该语言使用者的内在本质和对世界的认知状况;并且,不同的语言在一定程度和方式上导致语言使用者不同的思维和行为,语言的意义能表征出语言使用者的思维模式。换言之,一种语言就是一种概念思维系统。本文在洪堡特语言理论框架中,以分析“gentleman”和“君子”的内涵为基点,尝试探讨“gentleman”和“君子”两个文化符号所代表的不同人格特征。
[Abstract]:Humboldt believes that the structure and characteristics of a language reflect the intrinsic nature of the language user and the state of perception of the world, and that different languages, to some extent and in a way, lead to different thoughts and behaviors of the language user. The meaning of language can represent the mode of thinking of language users. In other words, a language is a conceptual thinking system. This paper attempts to explore the different personality characteristics represented by the two cultural symbols of "gentleman" and "Gentleman".
