“圣”字的文化阐释

【摘要】："圣"字的形义及其演变显示,其本义似应为"耳聪目明",即"聪明非凡的人",现代汉语中主要衍生出:圣人、圣贤、圣地、神圣、诗圣、书圣、圣经、圣明、圣洁、圣灵等词汇。作为一种价值,"圣"是人类的一种非现实的、宗教的价值,是人类将自己的本质力量异化的结果,体现为一种神灵身上的主宰世界一切的力量,一般叫作"神圣"。从伦理学来看,圣、圣贤、圣人是人们所尊崇、仰慕、追求的道德品质、道德楷模、理想人格。在西方,基督教所宣扬的一整套宗教学说及其道德都记录在《圣经》之中,其宗教道德戒律成为规范人们行为、稳定社会统治和秩序的有力手段。在中国传统社会中,《论语》《孟子》等儒家经典同样是规训人们、稳定社会的有力工具。人类也一直在追求圣洁的道德规范。在美学和文艺领域,各种文艺门类都出现了一些"有特高成就的人",古今中外有许多诗圣、乐圣、书圣等,他们的创作成为了人类文艺宝库的珍品,为世界美学留下了弥足珍贵的宝贵财富。
