关联理论视角下的非规约性间接言语行为研究

  在日常的人际交往中,交际者经常有话不直说,而是通过拐弯抹角的方式间接地表达自己的思想,这就是美国哲学家塞尔所提出的间接言语行为。间接言语行为一经提出就引起了语言研究者的广泛关注和兴趣。本文着重从关联理论的视角阐释这一语言现象存在的原因以及要如何正确理解它。塞尔将间接言语行为细分为规约性间接言语行为和非规约性间接言语行为,其中非规约性间接言语行为因其不确定性,复杂性和更强的推理性,而更值得我们去分析和研究。本文从关联理论的角度去分析非规约性间接言语行为。研究表明,在明示-推理交际过程中,说话者的明示包含信息意图和交际意图,听话者就是要通过信息意图(字面意义)来了解说话者的交际意图(隐含意义)。间接言语行为的理解过程为:听话者先理解话语的字面意义(信息意图),获得话语的次要言语行为,产生最大关联,而当听话者发现这样的理解与所处的认知环境没有产生充分的关联时,便会结合自己的知识,以最少的努力扩充认知语境,完善语句的意义。当听话者认为对话语的理解符合自己的关联性期待时,便会停止推理,产生最佳关联,话语的主要言外之力(交际意图)便被识别。间接言语行为的使用在英语听力理解中普遍存在,因此在英语教学...
