    前言：将西医学脑的一系列特性,即脑血管舒缩的相对限制性、脑组织的高血流量、脑组织的高氧耗量、葡萄糖是维持脑功能的主要能源、血脑屏障作用,通过血液,与心的特性有机地加以联系。揭示在机体各器官组织中,心泵血功能的变化对脑功能活动的影响最显著。这也是中医学中“心主神志”的西医学重要本质之一。
