[Abstract]:Since Trump took office, the United States has been stepping up its "free navigation" campaign against the South China Sea, which is a concrete manifestation of its long-term policy of freedom of navigation. The United States'"freedom of navigation" operation in the South China Sea not only seriously infringes China's national sovereignty, but also has a serious negative impact on the "Belt and Road" initiative that China is committed to promoting. Against this background, China should speed up the negotiation process of formulating the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea in consultation with ASEAN countries, and at the same time, work for the South.
