城市商业银行跨区域经营的效率提升研究

【摘要】:城市商业银行作为银行业一部分,是在城市信用社基础上建立起来的。但随着近些年城市商业银行的迅速发展,以及我国监管机构解除跨区域经营限制,大多数城市商业银行都走上了区域扩张的道路。在这过程中,城市商业银行暴露出了很多问题。例如,,区域协调困难、在区域扩张中人才和资源供给不足等。为此,论文主要探讨城市商业银行在进行跨区域经营后效率是否得到了提升?哪些因素影响城市商业银行的效率? 首先,本文利用数据包络分析法DEA对进行跨省建立分支机构的13家城市商业银行跨区域经营前后各三年的效率进行了测算。结果发现,无论是银行的技术效率、还是银行的纯技术效率和规模效率,13家样本银行整体上都是在效率提升的时候进行了跨区域经营。它们在跨区域经营第一年效率得到了提升,第二年随即出现下降,而且随着跨区域经营时间越长,其效率下降趋势越明显。 其次,不同地域的城市商业银行在进行跨区域经营前后表现出不同的效率变化。我们对样本银行按其总部所属地分为东部、中部和西部三组,分别考察了其跨区域经营效率变化情况。结果发现,东部城市商业银行在跨区域经营后效率整体上是下降的,而中部和西部城市商业银行在跨区域经营后效率却在上升。因此,本人利用Tobit模型进行回归分析,探讨影响城市商业银行有关进行跨区域经营效率提升的因素。结果发现,城市商业银行效率与不良贷款余额、成本收入比呈负相关关系,与管理费用、利润总额呈正相关关系。 最后,根据以上分析并借鉴美国跨州经营中有关提升效率的经验,对如何提升我国城市商业银行跨区域经营效率提出了一些可行的建议。如城市商业银行要控制不良贷款余额、控制成本收入比、提高管理水平等,还可以利用并购等方式提升自身效率,在进行在跨区经营时不可盲目扩张,否则会因管理水平低导致效率下降。
[Abstract]:As a part of banking, urban commercial banks are established on the basis of urban credit cooperatives. However, with the rapid development of urban commercial banks in recent years and the release of trans-regional management restrictions by our country's regulators, most urban commercial banks have embarked on the road of regional expansion. In this process, city commercial banks exposed a lot of problems. For example, regional coordination difficulties, in regional expansion in the supply of talent and resources, and so on. Therefore, this paper mainly discusses whether the efficiency of urban commercial banks has been improved after the cross-regional operation. What factors affect the efficiency of urban commercial banks? First of all, this paper uses DEA to measure the efficiency of 13 urban commercial banks before and after trans-regional operation. The results show that both the technical efficiency of the bank and the pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency of the bank are all cross-regional operation when the efficiency is improved. Their efficiency has been improved in the first year of cross-regional operation, and then decreased in the second year, and with the longer the cross-regional operation time, the more obvious the trend of efficiency decline. Secondly, city commercial banks in different regions show different efficiency changes before and after cross-regional operation. The sample banks are divided into three groups according to their headquarters: eastern, central and western. The results show that the efficiency of urban commercial banks in the eastern part of China is decreasing after the cross-regional operation, while the efficiency of the central and western city commercial banks is rising after the cross-regional operation. Therefore, I use Tobit model to make regression analysis to explore the factors that affect the efficiency of cross-regional management in urban commercial banks. The results show that the efficiency of urban commercial banks is negatively correlated with the balance of non-performing loans and the ratio of cost to income, and is positively correlated with the management expenses and total profits. Finally, based on the above analysis and the experience of improving the efficiency of cross-state operation in the United States, some feasible suggestions on how to improve the efficiency of cross-regional operation of urban commercial banks in China are put forward. For example, city commercial banks should control the balance of non-performing loans, control the ratio of cost to income, improve the management level and so on. They can also improve their own efficiency by means of mergers and acquisitions. Otherwise, the efficiency will be reduced because of the low level of management.
