[Abstract]:The Planck constant (h) has been measured for the first time by the Watt balance NIST-4 of the latest model of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The result is that h = 6.62606983 x 10-34 J.s. This high-precision result is sufficient to accurately define the "kilogram" in the International System of Units. For nearly 130 years, the international definition of kilogram has been based on a piece of platinum. Iridium, deposited in the International Bureau of Metrics and Measures (BIPM) in Paris.
