互联网对国际贸易的影响:集约边际抑或扩展边际

【摘要】:互联网可以降低在对外贸易的交易成本,但到底是通过何种途径对贸易产生影响尚不得而知。本文量化互联网对国际贸易的影响。研究结果发现,互联网对国家间贸易有积极的影响:出口国的互联网普及率越高,双边贸易的流量越大,出口国的互联网普及率的贸易增长效应为13.2%,其主要原因在于出口价格的提高。进口国的互联网普及率的贸易增长效应为10.5%,原因在于贸易数量的增加。研究还发现,当贸易双方都有较高的互联网普及率时,互联网对出口流量、扩展边际和集约边际都具有积极效应,而且互联网普及率对双边贸易不同类型产品的影响存在差异。
[Abstract]:Although the Internet can reduce the transaction costs in foreign trade, it is not clear how the Internet will affect trade. This paper quantifies the impact of the Internet on international trade. The Internet has a positive impact on inter-country trade: the higher Internet penetration in exporting countries, the greater the flow of bilateral trade, The trade growth effect of Internet penetration in exporting countries is 13.2%, which is mainly due to the increase in export prices. The trade growth effect of Internet penetration in importing countries is 10.5, due to the increase in trade volume. The study also found that. When both trade parties have higher Internet penetration rate, the Internet has positive effects on export flow, expansion margin and intensive margin, and the influence of Internet penetration rate on different types of products in bilateral trade is different.
