[Abstract]:In a recent report from the International Energy Agency, the International Energy Agency said global demand for natural gas would grow by 2 percent a year over the next five years, slightly below last year's forecast of 2.3 percent, after a marked slowdown in the gas market in 2013 and 2014. The downgrade comes as demand in Asia weakens and gas prices continue to rise, forcing consumers to switch to alternative options. The annual report provides a detailed analysis of natural gas demand, supply and trade volumes and a five-year forecast, arguing that global demand for natural gas will grow by 2 per cent a year by the end of the forecast period.
