【摘要】：在人们所能理解和表达的世界中,人类所接收信息和传播信息都以符号的形式呈现。自然通过自身向人类传达着不计其数的符号信息。符号成为信息传递的载体,通过这些符号信息人类达到了和自然的交流、和人本身的交流以及对未知的探索交流。设计者通过设计作品向人们传达这些由符号所构成的信息,在作品表达的方式上通过直接表达或间接表达为人们所接受,从而成为设计的符号、城市的符号国家的符号、和人类的符号等。本文通过对符号学理论体系中图像符号类别的研究,将其与景观设计表达相融合,研究景观与符号之间的联系。并根据皮尔斯对符号的三分法分类对新加坡景观设计符号进行解读。新加坡拥有其特殊的人文背景:多种族和谐聚居、多宗教并存。在规划设计和景观设计中它拥有自己特殊的符号,不是所谓的具象的或抽象的书面表达符号,而是人们生在其中的感知符号。它是宏观上的景观建筑或景观艺术设计,也可以是代表种族或信仰的具体图案符号,同时也是一种文化传承的符号。因笔者对新加坡有较为浓厚的研究兴趣和曾在新加坡进行交流学习,对新加坡的城市规划和景观设计有一定的了解。新加坡的多元素文化聚积的力量在现实的景观设计中如何表达各种族和宗教对文化的理解和需求是一个值得分析研究和探讨的。基于符号学的理论基础,以及索绪尔的语言符号学为分析手段,将新加坡的景观设计语言符号表达进行深入分析并将新加坡景观设计根据符号图像呈现的性质进行分类研究。研究符号学视角下的新加坡景观设计。笔者在研究的过程中解决了作为符号的新加坡城市景观是如何表达多元文化融合下的城市景观的问题。同时探索基于符号学背景下的新加坡城市景观是如何成功的突出新加坡的特质文化,在景观设计的过程中如何将地域文化和时代发展相融合的。基于以上的研究成果,总结出对国内景观设计语言符号表达的启示。
