休谟的商业共和主义思想探析

【摘要】：古典共和主义认为,"共和"的必要前提是积极的公民美德,而商业是腐化公民美德的重要力量,从而使公民自由变得不可能。因此,摆在近代政治思想家面前的一个基本问题就是:在商业社会背景下,共和政治是如何可能的?从某种角度来说,休谟的政治思想可以被看成是对这一问题的解答。他对商业社会的道德辩护以及对"派系"与"联邦大共和国"思想等理念的阐发,使他成为共和主义思想传统中不可忽视的思想家。
[Abstract]:According to classical republicanism, the necessary premise of "republic" is positive civic virtue, and commerce is an important force that corrupts civil virtue, which makes civil liberty impossible. Therefore, a basic question in front of modern political thinkers is: under the background of commercial society, how can Republican politics be possible? In a way, Hume's political thought can be seen as an answer to this question. His moral defense of the commercial society and his elucidation of the ideas of "faction" and "Federal Republic" made him a thinker who could not be ignored in the tradition of republicanism.
