英语政治访谈中模糊限制语的元语用功能研究

【摘要】：模糊性是自然语言的基本属性。模糊限制语作为语言模糊性的主要表现形式被广泛应用于各类言语交际中。随着政治、经济及传媒业的发展，政治访谈作为传播政治思想和信息的一种重要途径，越来越受到人们的关注。为了更好地达到交际目的并易于让公众接受，政治访谈中的说话人往往会使用一些模糊限制语。本文作者以元语用理论为依据对英语政治访谈中的模糊限制语进行了分析，旨在探讨该类访谈中模糊限制语的元语用功能。 本研究从美国广播公司《世界新闻》、美国有线新闻网《Larry King直播》以及美国哥伦比亚广播公司《60分钟》节目中随机选取共10篇政治访谈，约30852字作为语料。首先采用定性与定量分析相结合的研究方法，找出语料中的模糊限制语并对其进行分类整理，继而标明不同种类模糊限制语的使用频率，以探究何种模糊限制语在英语政治访谈中应用较多。其次结合语料具体分析元语用意识是如何调控语言使用者在英语政治访谈中选择并使用模糊限制语的。最后为本研究的重点，，结合搜集的语料进一步解读英语政治访谈中的模糊限制语具有哪些元语用功能。 通过以上研究发现：变动型模糊限制语中的程度变动语在英语政治访谈中使用频率相对较高。在元语用意识的调控下，模糊限制语在英语政治访谈中发挥着特定的元语用功能，即实现表达礼貌、加强自我保护、避免提供细节性话语、提高可信度和推卸或减弱本应承担的责任。 总之，作者希望本研究有助于访谈说话人更好的理解及运用模糊限制语，并对各类访谈中的语言使用策略提供借鉴。
[Abstract]:Fuzziness is the basic attribute of natural language. As the main manifestation of language fuzziness, hedges are widely used in all kinds of verbal communication. As an important way to disseminate political thoughts and information, political interviews have attracted more and more attention. Some hedges are often used in political interviews. Based on the meta-pragmatic theory, the author analyzes the hedges in English political interviews in order to explore the meta-pragmatic functions of hedges in such interviews. In this study, a total of 10 political interviews were randomly selected from ABC News, Larry King Live and CBS < 60 minutes. About 30852 words are used as corpus. Firstly, by using the method of qualitative and quantitative analysis, the hedges in the corpus are found and sorted out, and then the frequency of the use of different kinds of hedges is indicated. This paper explores which hedges are widely used in English political interviews. Secondly, it analyzes how meta pragmatic awareness regulates language users' choice and use of hedges in English political interviews. As the focus of this study, The meta-pragmatic functions of hedges in English political interviews are further analyzed with the collected data. Through the above study, it is found that the degree of variation in variable hedges is relatively high in English political interviews, and it is regulated by metaphorical consciousness. Hedges play a specific meta-pragmatic role in English political interviews, that is, to express politeness, strengthen self-protection, avoid providing detailed utterances, enhance credibility and shirk or abate their supposed responsibilities. In conclusion, the author hopes that the present study can help the speaker to understand and use hedges better, and to provide a reference for the use of language strategies in all kinds of interviews.
