功能理伦视角下中国时政词汇中美英译对比研究

【摘要】：随着中国综合国力的增长和国际地位的提高,中国语言与文化正以前所未有的热度风靡世界。中国时政词汇是在中国政治经济文化大背景下产生的词语,具有鲜明的中国特色。我国的媒体对中国时政词汇英译承担着重要的对外传播任务,而以美国为代表的西方媒体对中国的文化、国情等了解不够,又同时受自身意识形态的制约,难免对中国的社会现象做出有失偏颇的判断,继而影响到中国在国际社会中的形象。很多学者曾用不同的翻译理论对中国时政词汇进行翻译研究。然而,迄今为止,运用德国功能学派的翻译理论来指导对比中美媒体对时政词汇的英译情况为数不多。本文尝试应用德国功能学派理论来专门对中国时政词汇英译本进行初步的探讨,通过中美两个最具权威的新闻媒体发布的译本对比分析研究,分析出二者采用不同译本的原因。本文将从功能翻译理论的三个分支理论着手进行文本对比分析,它们分别是凯瑟琳娜·赖斯的文本理论类型,汉斯·弗米尔的目的论和贾斯塔·赫兹-曼塔利的翻译行为理论。最后得出结论：在功能翻译理论视角下,中国时政词汇英译中美之所以出现差异主要是由于四个方面的原因：读者因素对译者影响的差异,中美报刊媒体意识形态的差异,源语与目的语之间文化与制度的差异以及文本类型与语篇目的的差异。研究结果还证明,德国功能学派翻译理论对指导中国时政词汇中美英译对比研究颇有裨益。
[Abstract]:With the growth of China's comprehensive national strength and the improvement of its international status, Chinese language and culture are becoming more and more popular all over the world. Chinese political vocabulary is produced under the background of Chinese political, economic and cultural background, with distinct Chinese characteristics. The media in our country undertake an important task of spreading Chinese current political vocabulary to English. However, the western media, represented by the United States, do not have enough knowledge of China's culture and national conditions, and are also constrained by their own ideology. It is inevitable to make biased judgments on China's social phenomena, and then affect China's image in the international community. Many scholars have used different translation theories to study the translation of Chinese political vocabulary. However, so far, the use of the German functional school of translation theory to guide the contrast between Chinese and American media on the current political vocabulary translation. This paper attempts to apply the German functional school theory to make a preliminary study of the English versions of Chinese current and political terms, and through the comparative analysis of the two most authoritative news media versions published in China and the United States, the reasons for their different versions are analyzed. In this paper, the author makes a comparative analysis of the three branches of functional translation theory, namely, Catherine Rice's text theory, Hans Vermeer's Skopos theory and Jasta Herz-Mantali 's translation behavior theory. Finally, from the perspective of functional translation theory, it is concluded that the differences between China and the United States are mainly due to four reasons: the differences in the influence of readers on translators, and the differences in the ideology of Chinese and American newspapers and periodicals. The cultural and institutional differences between the source language and the target language, as well as the differences between the text types and the textual purpose. The results also prove that the German functional School's translation theory is helpful to guide the contrastive study of Chinese-American translation of Chinese political vocabulary.
