[Abstract]:A team led by Michael MC Alpine, an assistant professor at Princeton University in the United States, has produced the world's first fully 3D printed LEDs, which involve interleaved printable electrodes, polymers and semiconductors. All of these are suspended in solvents to prevent materials from being connected to each other during printing. The technology can also be used to make smart contact lenses, electronic implants and other products.
